More than a sheet gets subbed out for me. We hung, taped, and mudded a 180sqft room for our master.

    Never again.

Thanks, had a 68 c10 with LS swap and T-56 trans...that one you see in the photo is my 70 cst. I sold the 70 and my Tacoma to offset the purchase of my Tundra, and my Prius work car. So now a Prius sits where that truck sat.....kind of traitorous to my old chevy roots :)

I would absolutely take a Tesla! Been eyeing up used model S. I loved the race where the Model x had a trailer in tow and beat a sports car.

Spin doctor from Lowe's, giving it a run through on this, like It much better then the wedges, way easier on my fingers. The time difference between using one and not is so nice.

Working on my arbour again this weekend

Dug through my lumber and timber stash to find some material that will work for this project , I need 5 , 9' posts and an 18' long cap

Picked out these 4 , 18' Western Red Cedar 4x6 that I've had for literally 15 years lol

Cut 3 in half to make my posts and ripped and shaped this guy to become the cap

The posts connect to the concrete columns with knife plates . To make that connection I have to make a 1/4" x 3" x 14" deep plunge cut in the base of the post . To make this cut accurate and repeatable I made a sled for my 16" electric chainsaw that has a fence that projects past , and is parallel to the bar . I offset the fence so that it is 2" from fence to centre of chain bar (putting plunge cuts in centre of 4" dimension of cedar 4x6) and shimmed the saw before bolting it to sled so that centre of the bar in the horizontal axis is at 3" above table (putting plunge cut centred in 6" dimension of cedar 4x6)

I used an off cut of a 6x6 to test and adjust my sled but this shows essentially how it works . Keep the fence tight to the right side of the posts and plunge the saw into the end of the post

Got all 5 plunge cuts done with the sled

I cut a plunge into the remaining 4x6 off cut and test fit it , should be good

Tomorrow I'll fit and fine tune the permanent posts

At one time the basement was probably a sweet mid century swingers pad; complete with wood paneling, a 16’ dry bar, a wood burning fireplace, and what I can only imagine as being orange carpet.

It was all partially gutted when we bought the house and my wife made the executive decision to remove the wood paneling and the remaining drywall from the ceiling.

I thought drywall finishin sucked, but painting the open ceiling is much worse. I’m 10 hours into painting and only have half of my 16x40 area done....my arms are about to fall off.

    7C9A943C-23B8-4192-8643-CADBF6CEF5EA.jpg

I’m sure it will be rewarding when we have a row of crock pots and a kegerator for next year’s Super Bowl, which will mark 3 years on the stupid project that I wasn’t interested in doing....

We’re moving into a place with wood paneling. I kinda like it :anonymous:
Not going to put up drywall. My back wouldn’t last long at all
