Haha, I’ve had bedslide, loved them but found them to be not worth it to be honest as they make way to much noise off road.

Decked, I’m actually considering it, my recently purchased storage system was badly put together, they basically threw it together last minute, and it wasn’t square/slides were not level, etc. That went back, otherwise I’d have ripped it out of the truck in murderous rage.

My concern with the decked is the height, restricting access to the Gfc.

Down periscope? I’ve learned after this last trip I did, to just pitch the toile outside, fire in a wag bag and have at it. Nothing like using the bathroom and having spectacular views. Felt bad for the girls who came driving around my truck while I was in action, haha. They were giggling and laughing. Meh. Thankfully I saw no cameras.

I just don't want to bother leaving my bag when it's 30-40 degrees outside. Problem is the next day when my eyeballs are floating and I can barely hunch over to get my shoes on in order to find the closest tree.

Pee bottle at night? What is this thing you speak of? Most be an old mans accessory ;). Hehe. I’m borderline needing one as well, I wake up in the am now and sometimes it’s a mad rush to get out of the tent. Not usually though.

So much for keeping the thread on topic. To get it back on track, I’d like to request a funnel with 1/2” tubing be installed and use the gutter drainage system for emergency bathroom breaks.

Won't work for me.... at night sometimes all I've got is "pee by sonar".... a bottle would have unfortunate consequences.

Make sure to do the Mohave road as well. Just north of Joshua tree, pretty easy off-roading, unless there has been a lot of rain, making soda lake extremely difficult to cross.

@wileydavis- did you mention somewhere that after you get the camper out you will build a camper/trailer with an pop-up roof?

The style of locks/latches are very similar to the ones used by Alucab. They freeze up in the winter, quite easily with freeze thaw events. The ones I saw in the prototype, looked very very similar. Any thoughts on how to deal with this?

The below got lost before the rearview cam/piss posts, throwing it out there again

Was mentioned early on in the thread that bead rolling may be an option if there was enough demand. Is that still in play? I like it as it breaks up the monotony/"homebuilt out of plywood" look of the sides

Well, not sure how I missed that. Be nice to see how they plan on dealing with it or did I not read far enough into the thread after your link.

The latches we’re using are sealed southco compression latches with a raised lock barrel. We haven’t had any issues in the numerous snow thaw freeze cycles we’ve had this winter. I’m not sure what the Alucab uses but the ones I’ve seen were flush with the panel.

Sorry if this has been answered.

Can you drive without a hard or soft panel between the cab and the lower frame? Would it create too much drag with all the other panels in place?
