SO after getting some more miles (75) on the truck with only the fronts installed I am still at 2" of lift. More importantly though is how well it rides. I love it! The body roll on corners is a lot less as well as the nose dive when stopping. So far I have only been on road with it but pot holes and bumps are a lot smoother for sure. My biggest worry so far has been fitting into the parking garage at work which has a posted 6ft height warning..... I crawled into the garage today and cleared everything although not by much and I believe I was able to do this because I took most of the air out of my airbags.... I now need to but some air back in the bags and measure the height difference as well as see if I fit into the garage before installing an aal.

Doesnt the 3rd gens come with the TSB bearing? When i bumped mine up 1.75 its started humming. Went to dealer and they replaced with TSB bearing, under warranty. Humming gone now for 18 months or so and going.

1" lift from 3rd gen suspension, 265/75/16 ATs
I had to get ECGS bearing last year when I installed 3rd gen suspension witch only gives 1" of lift on 2nd gen. I do have 265/75/16s so that would be another 1/2".

Edit: Personally, like someone said earlier, I think Toyota just figured with the limited number of Baja/Pro Tacomas they can handle potential issues. Imho it was calculated and conscious decision on their part.

My order is still backlogged at OEMparts world. I think I am just going to get a legit suspension package. I am not feeling the results I have seen in this thread.

Yes, anytime you change suspension or wheels or tires you should realign

If the needle bearing is going to go bad... what difference does it make if you retain stock vs. replace? Whatever makes it go bad... is the same in both scenarios.

If one goes bad... won't another?

For those that installed the HS 3-leaf AAL, did you remove the forward and rear leaf clamps or just the rear? The rear is a no-brainer. The front clears with it on the stands but looks like it may hit once on the ground and the springs compressing.

Anyone know if spring swap could lower the lift? 1.75 seem too high for my need.

I did the Wheelers flavor of that same AAL, didn't see the need to remove any leaf clamps, unless I'm totally misunderstanding what you mean.

Yep, that's what I thought you meant. Didn't touch mine at all. The AAL cleared both just fine. Make sure you orient the AAL appropriately, there's a front and rear side.
