Looking for a good substitute for a 3" x 2" flood light to fit the cutouts on my pelfrey standard bumper. I don't need the power of the Baja Designs that are recommended for it since I really just want some lighting when getting to the truck late after fishing (trying to climb out of waders in the dark sucks).

Hey TJ, Here's another option just for awareness. I have the Better Bed Lights from a forum member here, they mount up high with our brake lights. Great addition to the truck for either bed and rear lighting. Bad lighting pic below but you get the idea.

I have a cap or I'd give that a shot. I do have an interior led light, wonder if I could make q hinged mount for it so I can swing out when the cap window is open

Ah, gotcha. Worth an email perhaps to http://www.betterbedlights.com/

No commercial interest here just a happy customer. You can aim them anywhere and get yellow lenses if needed. Good luck!

Maybe I misread what you were looking for.

There are adapters that sit just underneath/behind the cap's window hinge must as you suggested.

Look at the Truckvault first-responder trucks on their websites for more ideas. Accessory lighting to the rear and sides is huge. You may find a concept you like there.

No your first suggestion was great, since I have the pelfrey it would be nice to throw lights in it, but the cost sucks for a light I won't use every day. I'll check their stuff out and see what I can find.

You can also mirror the bed light setups. Just run the wires up your shell. If you don't mind the look, you can utilize 3M double sided tape and stick the lights on your cap's window. The switch will turn those lights on instead and you'll have a flood of light.

Other option, run a 10-20" LED lightstrip and stick it to your cap's window the same way.

    Very inexpensive and easy wiring.

Good options. My bumper arrives Thursday and I know they include filler plates for the light cutouts. Wonder if I could just screw a set of rock lights to them? Those seem pretty inexpensive and would offer some close lighting for hooking up the camper and seeing around the tailgate area

Some cheap ebay 3"×2" flush lights wouldn't work in those bumpers?

    I don't have a kick ass armor bumper. ...yet:facepalm:

    but for exsample...

That would be great if they bolted up! Wish I had my bumper here to measure the distance between mounting holes

Call or email pelfrey for dimensions of holes.
Then just make sure the seller has dimensions listed.
(I thought the 3x2 flush led's were all a standard size but they may not be..) :notsure:

Did you ever find lights that fit the bumper other than the BDs? It would be nice to put some lights in mine when it gets here but I’m not spending $400 on a pair of lights that are pretty much just space fillers.

I ended up buying the BDs lol, they are pretty sick lights. After regretting going the cheap route on my fogs and eventually buying BDs for those, I just bit the bullet and spent the money

Looks good! I would've gone that route if mine wasn't pre-cut
