So I bought a headache rack and a Kobalt tool box and I can't mount either until I get these stupid things out of the way. Does anyone know how to remove them? The best I can think of is that I have to pull up the top bed guard but I want to know before I do that and if I have to remove anything before pulling it up.20180219_193807_1519098531341.jpg 20180219_193819_1519098530828.jpg

We just got our '18 Trd Sport DCLB last week . It was ordered with a factory tonneau and it had the same stuff that you have . If you pop up the bed rails ( without breaking them ) , you will easily be able to remove them with 1 or 2 screws . I was skeptical if I could get the rail covers off without hurting them , so I took a cut-ff wheel to both of them and buzzed them off . Piece of cake . Do protect the rig from flying sparks ... they will harm paint and catch plastic on fire .

The tonneau and those brackets are worth quite a bit. Easily removed, too.

There are several videos on the subject.

If you lift the plastic rail, you can move that “grey cover” then you’ll need a torx to remove that pin. https://youtu.be/5NABLyBTseI

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it! I got really pissy when I was trying to put them on and they were in the way. Then I spilled my beer. I've been pouting ever since lol.
