I just drained/filled my transmission the other week and wasn't happy with the color of the fluid so I'm planning on doing a flush for preventative measure. When I did a drain/fill I used my Torque Pro app to check the pan temp and did the level check at 115*F-120*F which is commonly referred to on this forum (check between 115*F-130*F)

While reading the DIY flush thread I saw this post by @Fury and it got me thinking. I decided to test the AT OIL TEMP on my 2015 and compare it to my Torque Pro reading once the light came on. Lo and behold the light came on at 97*F and starting flashing at 115*F. This begs the question, should later 2nd gen tacomas be checked at a lower temperature then early 2nd gens?

do it proper, and the simple way. Put the truck into at temp check mode and use that, Dont go off some random PID that needed a formula to get data from.

Toyota calls for 97F to 115F on the 2010-2014 Fjs and 4runners, and they are same A750 trans, so it does not surprise me that the later 2nd gen tacos have a revised temp.

My scangauge temp matches the Oil Temp light procedure, on at 97 and flashes at 115.
