Absolutely... how are independently operated fog lights any different from any other adtermarket off road lights added to your truck? People have been adding lights to their trucks since off-road lights were invented. The reason the first inspector gave me was because people were using their fog lights as head lights and that was illegal...:der: kinda the opposite of what ive seen... most guys want the brightest lights possible. But he did say if you put covers over any independently controlled light, then it will pass... idk if they make covers for our fogs but I’ve done some pretty neat things with duct tape and zip ties to get vehicles to pass md inspection when I lived there and I think if I ever need to, I’ll just throw some black tape over my lights call it my light covers. That guy was an a hole. I’ll never go back to him.

I see people using foglights as headlights all the time, but who cares? I can still see them coming...

Safety inspections do blow! If I wanted something to "blow" in or on my truck, I'd get me some roadhead!

When I went to the second inspector, he saw I had an emissions sticker but not an inspection sticker, he asked who I went to, when I told him, he goes oh that guy has no idea what he’s talking about. He said any lights below your bumper can be independently operated of your headlights... so I’m not sure whose right but I know whose got my business from now on lol.

Same reason I'll never go back to BJ's Tire Center, even though I've got a replacement warranty on my new Michelins...

It all started when I innocently took out my phone while in the customer area to take a picture of my truck on the lift with it's wheels removed (I thought it was kinda cool and wanted to post a pic on TW). The twatwaffle tire guy proceeds to tell me that I can't take pictures, and an argument ensues, which ends with me telling him "It's my fucking truck, and I'll take all the pictures I want!" Seriously, my name's on the title, so you can go to hell!

Unbeknownst to me, this prick at BJ's had incorrect removed one of my rear tires from the rim prior to me taking the picture, breaking the TPMS sensor in the process. After spending a week trying unsuccessfully to make the light go out, I took it to the dealer and this is what they found...

And here's the statement from the tech...

I've given up on ever getting my money back, because I went back to BJ's a bit too late and came close to decking the guy...

He tried to shift blame to the Toyota dealer...

Ha... hahaha! So they knew they fed up and thought you were taking a pic of that or it showed in the pic... what kind of sketchy mechanic cares if you take pictures? If they’re doing what they’re supposed to, they’ve got nothing to hide. That sucks. That’s why I never go to those big lube and tire places. They could care less about your vehicle. That really sucks. Wire up your headlights how you want, just use common sense when driving at night, if you can’t see, turn on your headlights like a normal person... not sure why everyone needs to be told what they should already know lol. I’m all for removing warning labels and letting the problem solve itself.

The douche at BJ's said that there'd been legal issues in the past from people taking pictures... o_O

The funny thing is that when I brought it to the Toyota dealer, the service manager said customers bring vehicles in all the time, with the same problem I had, after getting new tires at BJ's or Costco...

FYI, my local Toyota dealer has done a lot of frame replacements, and the service manager said they invite Tacoma owners into the service garage all the time, and encourage them to take all the pictures they want!
