Better to ask what I have not done.
You might have them backwards, the picture is as if you were looking at the plug its self and not the side that you would put the wires through.

Ok so that worked, partially. I rewired them opposite of how I had them. The a/c works now and the temp control and the backlight! I can't seem to get my vent direction to change, even though when I turn it to defrost the cabin air recycle comes on. Does this mean my polarity switch didn't take?

You might check the switch, also make sure you cleared room in that backing plate for the jumper wires to fit or it will ground out your wires and fry the whole thing

I took it all apart today and couldn't find anything wrong. I have plenty of space cleared for my jumper wires and they are still soldered and in tact. I looked at the switch and it seems fine, everything is where it should be and none of the factory soldering has popped or been damaged. I disconnected my battery and had the control set to feet/defrost before i plugged it in and its still stuck on that direction. I'm wondering if I should take the dial off of my old hvac and solder it onto my new one. It looks like its only held on by 4 solder points. I just don't want to make it worse!

Update: I soldered the dial from my old one onto the new one and nothing changed. Same symptoms as before. I am starting to wonder if it could simply be a fuse. Man i just want my ac to come out of the upper vents when I tell it to!:notsure::violent::help:

I have a problem with the wire for the ac working loose some times. You might check that and i believe a wire had to be moved to a diffrent spot then the diagram says. But cant recall what wire that was.

Man I wish it was that easy. All of my wires are nice and tight. And I recall, the one you're talking about is moving the wire that goes in 16 on the diagram to 13 on models 08 and before and I made sure to do that. I also confirmed the wire placements by looking at the circuit board where you can see the circuits running from the plug. I'm baffled at this point not sure what it could be. The ac and heater work fine it's just stuck on the foot/defrost vent and the fresh/recycled air button doesn't work properly

Good idea. I have to take our sequoia there next week anyways. I'm sure they'll have a better theory at least. Thanks for trying to help! :hattip:

I figured it out finally! I found a complete wiring diagram online and figured out I had two wires swapped. In your pdf that shows which wires go where, the MSET LG-B wire looks like the same color as the MR/F G-B wire. I just thought one looked a little darker on your pdf and I was wrong. So I swapped those two wires and VIOLA! In other words I had the G-B wire in the 3 slot and the LG-B wire in the 5 slot. I just had to do a simple swap. Something that was driving me nuts was so simple! HA!:bananadance: For what its worth thanks for your write up and trying to help me trouble shoot. I'm stoked on the new colors with the amber all gone! My next mission is trying to find what type of LED is used for the a/c and recycle air buttons so I can switch them from amber to blue!

I’m confused on which wire I should put in for the mset or the mr/f one is lighter then the other

Just wanted to says thanks Jake for the information you provided on this thread! I finally got my swap done last night and had the AC button issue. Swapped my wire from pin 16 to 13 and all is good!

If you have an 08 and had to do that then I'm guessing I'll have to do it as well. I'm about to do mine so wish me luck xD. Also, does anyone have any info on changing the color of the LED's on the circuit board? Like LED type and a how to. Maybe another thread or something? If I'm not mistaken they are ALL white by default right?

P.S. If anyone needs these connectors I just bought 4 and I don't think I'll actually need them. The part I bought from eBay came with the plug xD

    Right on!
Just ordered two sets of connectors/pins.
I'll be going from a 05 to 12-15, so I'll make sure to jump pin 1 to 13, vice 16.

Hello, do you have anymore of the wiring harness for the climate control change available. Thank you and keep up the great work you motivate me to do things to mine. Jerry
