    Hi guys,
I find it a bit strange that I cannot find the outside temperature gauge in my 2014 trd double cab. I have the auto dimming rear view mirror with the compass.. and it looks like there is enough room to show the temperature. Am I totally crazy or is it hiding somewhere?!!
    HELP!!

Toyota's wonderful idea was to delete the outside temp on 14 and 15 models, and wants you to use the weather app on the entune radio.

Thanks for the reply. I have NAV but I don't see anywhere on the screen where it would show the weather. Do I need to install a certain app? Sorry for the dumb questions.

In the mean time - I did contact my sales guy at my Toyota dealership.

Yeah if you go to Apps, you should see a icon there for "Weather" .. Bad thing is that you have to be "in range" of a area that's broadcasting the weather

You do have the stock radio right?

Here's what it looks like (I don't have nav tho, but still the same)

I hate that they make you use the HD radio signal for the temperature. Especially if you live outside of a major metropolitan area and don't get anything.

    Worst idea ever.

I love it when my tacoma tells me the weather me an hour ago in Denver when I am 50 miles away in mountains...

agreed, the weather app sucks. It says the temp of a city 10-15 miles from where i am. frustrating.

Just some dumb regular crap everyone else has
I have a '14 Sport DCSB and had the same complaint. I went onto eBay and bought a rear view mirror that was auto dimming and had a compass and temp built in. You can buy them with the garage door openers built in as well. Lots to choose from. Anyways, I ran the sensor to my grill area, installed the mirror where the old one was and tapped into the 12v supply in the headliner. I now have an accurate temp gauge that tells me what the actual outside temp is where i'm at. A lot of people have done this, true story. LOL....

My total cost was about $50, total time was about 1.5hrs. Money and time well spent.

I went with Bob's Automotive Mirrors, he sells a kit with the temp sensor. Really easy to do and looks stock.

Thanks for the tips... but it's weird because I do have the auto dimming mirror with the compass and the garage door opener on it. Just no temp gauge?!

That's weird, you should have the app on that screen, can you try going into setup and see if you can activate it through there? I don't think you can turn it on or off in there, just a thought tho.

That's weird your weather app isn't showing up on the screen. And stupid that we have to use the weather app (and wait 5 minutes for it to "dowload data") to see the outside temp.
Like others above, I bought a mirror and swapped mine out.

    Instructions in this thread

Here's what mine looks like now:
