My airsoft shoots without pulling the trigger. The only way to stop it is to put the safety on. It's at constant fire until the battery runs out. Any one know what is up with my gun? Too bad because it's still brand new.

I'm getting myself a lancer tactical LT-15 soon, I used to be into paintball and airsoft, if I'd love to get back into it, do you have many fields near you?

    Necropost, but why not?

I don’t think offroading or modding will ever be a fully fledged hobby for me. Too expensive and too high risk. Airsoft, on the other hand, is technical, physical, social, and a broken gun won’t prevent me from going to work.

My current wall of shame. Each one has some degree of custom work done to it, whether that’s modifying real weapon parts to fit, completely overhauling the operating mechanism, or both.

It’s a retail display rack, which you can scoop up from Amazon and the like. Just don’t let yourself get to the point where you need two 2x8 foot sections to hold all your gats. I suppose being involved in the hobby for 16 years has something to do with it.

Nice guns, by the way. Do I spy a VFC in the middle?

I asked my son if he would like a wall like that, he said he would take them all. I had to remind him it was just the wall grid ;)

I have never been crazy about HPA rifles, especially the Tippmann ones. They have a tendency to burst fire in semi auto, which can lead to pretty dangerous situations in CQB. I caught a burst across the teeth making entry into a contested building, which woke me right up.

Ha. Tell him that owning this much crap requires a pretty in-depth understanding of internal work. Otherwise, they'd be broken all. The. Time. Also, the machine guns will take regular PT to use effectively. That 240 is a hoss.

The Tippmann is for his outside battles, which rarely sees close quarters contact.

Looks good. Bet your son was happy with that room upgrade.

Those fasteners look heavy duty, are those AG's actually that heavy (sorry not familiar with any of them) or is that just what came with the racks?

The hooks and wall mounts look the same as mine, so probably what came with the wall panels.

Most airsoft guns weigh about as much as their real counterparts, plus or minus a couple pounds. There are some that are fully plastic that weigh significantly less, but those are generally considered beginner level.

Wow. Do they hurt? What's the FPS on those roughly, if that's how they are measured?

The first few times you get whacked, they sting pretty good. About as much as a bee sting, depending on the range to contact. Close quarters (sub 10 feet) is generally pretty painful. They'll hammer your teeth straight out in that sort of engagement. Long distance hits (150+ feet) are usually barely noticeable, unless you're dealing with a juiced-up sniper rifle.

The unofficial US limit is 400 fps with a standard weight projectile. Other countries have different rules: 328 fps for the UK and Japan, closer to 500 for the Philippines, etc.

I had to order the wall mounts and hooks separately from the grid panels.
The weapons weigh about the same as a real one. Funny thing is, the small one is the heaviest and the HPA on top is the lightest.

Thanks, 400 FPS for that size does sound like it would hurt close quarters. Thanks for tolerating my noob questions...

No worries man. I'm the noob around here, and most folks have been gracious enough to answer all my questions.

The usual limit is 400 fps for guns with no minimum engagement distance (or "MED," basically a mandatory standoff distance between the shooter and the target). My local field allows bolt-action rifles to go up to 550 fps, but they have a 75 foot MED. There's also a whole variety of other "special" weapons that have their own muzzle velocity limits and accompanying MEDs. Designated marksman rifles can go up to 475 fps with a 50 foot MED, etc.
