Timing belt kit

Hey guys, what's the best complete timing belt/water pump kit for the 3.4? Factory Toyota only wants to sell the individual parts for big $

 

Ebay for the best price with Genuine Toyota parts (ca. $260 for everything you might need).

 

yea, ebay. just read descriptions carefully as there are many combinations that contain 99% OEM and 1 maybe close counterpart and some complete OEM. Sometimes from same seller and price varies accordingly. i.e. mizumeauto (? close, I think) Search for sellers rec'd on here before. There are a few who have been making kits a long time.

I'm not a stickler for the OEM belt myself. Gates is good.....if you want to think, well maybe I'm stretching out the next interval, that's different. OEM belts may outlast the truck after the first change.

I usually change ALL belts each inerval and did hoses at the 2nd change but at the age everything is now, even if first change, I'd do hoses and a good flush. Radiator plastic is getting old also.

Plastic/rubber and age is a worse consideration than mileage in my experience. Add heat and it degrades pretty quick after 10 years.

Had a Gates belt on our Sienna for 100k, its a good belt. When I did the T-belt I went to Rock-Auto and got the Aisin kit. You should check them out and see if they have one for the 3.4. All OEM parts basically. Koyo bearings, Mitsuboshi belt, Aisin water pump. Good kit, was @ $150.

 

The aircabinman kit for sale on Ebay is regarded as one of the best you can purchase for the 3.4 Liter V6.

Yep, I saw this one after I ordered the other one. I probably would have opted for this one too. The only thing that concerned me with the aircabinman kit when I got it was the MotoRad thermostat and they made it right and swapped it out for a factory Toyota one.
