Weekend traffic going to/from Big Bear sucks huge when they get snow, might go check out Gorman instead.

Might be able to camp at the Pinnacles Staging area. There are some offroad routes around there and I would imagine there would be a camp site or 2 in the area.

 

How's the wheeling up there in Lake Arrowhead? I always think to look into when I drive past on my way to Big Bear but haven't yet, there some good trails?

 

Yeah I was just thinking maybe I'll do Pilot Rock and take that all the way out to Lake Arrowhead, or do the reverse so I end up closer to home. Willow Creek Jeep trail looks easy but might be more fun if there's some snow out there.

 

Right on, going to talk it over with the lady and see what works best...if we end up there on Saturday I'll let you know, maybe we could meet up

I'm fortunate in that I'm the only member of the creative department that has 2 work stations, one in the office and one in the photo studio. I get away with a lot of TW browsing in the photo studio, no one really goes in there but me, lol.

TW and photoshop go hand in hand, really

2N17x was a pretty cool trail before the fire. 4x4 required and can be done without armor and lockers. I did with a couple guys a week before the fire. Our trip pictures and video have a link on post #2 of this thread. I did it again in summer last year. Nothing but a fire road now. Itwas plowed for fire truck access. There's maybe 1 fun hill at the very end where it meets pilot rock trail.
If adopting a trail gives you permission to shovel and add rocks to make it a real trail again I think that's pretty cool. I'd be interested in doing something like that. Wheelers Anonymous Adopt a Trail?

 

Dude Im so down to make a crazy trail section. I think we have to look into this. We need to start an official 4x4 club.
