Just curious. I haven’t even looked at my truck close enough to know if this work - that is, clear the engine, radiator, grille, etc. But wondering if anyone has seen an AM hood that you can actually see over. Damn near can’t see a thing coming over hills.

They designed this thing so that when you hit someone it doesn’t injure them as badly. The trade off is you’re more likely to hit someone. Gvmt logic.

    what is an "AM hood"?

Is that the hood that you only use in the morning?

Get a front approach camera. Problem solved. Pretty inexpensive too.

That is what I did. Also, an AM hood won't help with the height of the grille or grille surround. I like the big radiator but do wish the sight could have been lower.

Setup can be anywhere from probably 60 to 200. I got one on eBay which is pretty much plug and play (a little crimping required) for 160 which turns on by using the hang up call button for 2 seconds

The vent surround pulls off and the head unit is held in by four 10mm screws. From there, it is just a matter of plugging in and routing the leads. With the camera and such, I might have 3hrs in it? The hardest part was routing the cam harness through the firewall as the grommet is up high (tight access).

In the end, just the harness eliminating the frustration of functions not being available while moving is more than worth it. I felt it was almost unsafe since I had to look over often to tell if I was just not hitting the right spot on the screen or it the function was being locked out.

Do you have a sport hood? I’m wondering why you can’t see?
