Thanks for the tip Carter! I have a box of parts I keep replacing or removing LOL, figured I would just add it to it. I doubt there is much of a market for them.

 

I wouldnt say it really reacts. It just helps soften it up and let go. Then I secured it to my fence. Hit it at like a angle on. Bigger pressure and it all peeled right off. Grille was as good as new in less than 15 min. I probably had 5-6 coats of dip on it it. It left no residue or anything.

 

Same! I have my whole OEM grille assembly in a box and don’t know what to do with it haha. Been debating on whether to take my running boards off or not.

Yea, my OEM tubes and skid plate will ultimately be replaced by @Mobtown Offroad armor. Long way off though.

 

Yeah I have wanted the predator steps since I got the truck. It came with 5” oval tubes. I traded them for the cast aluminum ones last summer. And now I’m thinking about taking them off. Only reservation I am having is I actually use them. Lol

 

Yea, I could have had the predators but I didn't want to have to go back to the dealership a couple weeks later to have them put them on so I settled for the tubes.

The tubes are too close to the cab for me to even use them. The wife loves them though.

NFab makes a slider with hoops like the predators that come off. I've seen those predator hoops get nearly ripped off on moderate trails.

Me and you have the same problem. I’m pretty much tapped out for now. Once I get my new decals and grille emblem in. I may tint the windows in the coming weeks but That will be it for while

 

If you plan on even the slightest off roading, do NOT get the predators. They are cheap. Cheaply tack welded and the welds in the steps will crack at the slightest bump

 

how did you prepare the emblem for painting? scuffed it up a little? did you use any adhesion promoter? looking to do this and would appreciate any insight.

 

I can totally confirm this. A few months ago, someone grazed the side of my truck (thankfully, they were low and didn't touch any painted panels). The only thing that was really damaged was the predetor steps. Both steps were bent badly and one of the two steps was partially ripped off (at the weld) and unsusable. I was hoping to get something better, but since insurance was paying for it directly, the repair company said they had to stick with OEM.

I wish these weren't so weak because my entire family loves these steps. They use those steps a lot because the steps are at the perfect height for my wife and younger kids. Heck, I like them because I don't have to use them. lol I can easily put my leg down to the side of the step without issue.

Anyway, at least they are easy to remove. Whenever I plan to do some serious off-roading, I know I can do it prior to heading out.

 

New rear decals came in today. Time to remove that terrible grey TRD off-road decal! Anyone have any suggestions on removal of he OEM decal?

 

LOL.... Not to mention, trying to pull a trailer in mud/sand, etc..... might as well be trying to pull an aircraft carrier....

 

Warmth (sun/hair dryer) is your friend here.... Start at a corner and pull very slowly. Stop if it leaves residue. Add more heat and try again.....

Mine came off quite easy. WD40 helped clean up the residue... Good luck man..

Oh, by the way....you will likely end up with small bubbles under the new one....Don't fret. Don't puncture them. They will disappear in a week or 2....

I added this today. I was looking for a shackle for the receiver when I found this. Can be used with up to 3 inch straps and rated at 10,000 lbs. Acts as a step too.
