Oh you lucky....that was the baddest-ass Chevelle because front end. Did they do that front end in '68 too?

I recall seeing one with a dog besides that MG-so maybe it was another Ford. The one Matchbox I always wanted but never got was the pale yellow Mercury Colony Park station wagon. But gees my folks went crazy with buying me all these in the 60s & early 70s. They knew I was a car kid and fed it accordingly.

Yeah it is a switch-I had a little charger that plugged into a little hole at the side. There's a rechargeable battery inside this car still under that bulge and no way to open it up! I bet a lot of that crud underneath is corrosion. When I was a kid nobody gave a second thought to half the stuff they worry about now.

If you look at the photo of the bottom of the car at the right side by the upper tire it says Sizzlers.

My bad-I meant '69-I think they did then changed it in '70.

Yup. 68 and 69’s were pretty much the same except for the rear tail lights.

I have 2 Baja bugs I bought years ago that when you push down on the top the lights on the roof would blink on and off and made a siren inside somewhere. But the batteries are dead now and there is no way to change them.

Would love to have the yellow one from the parking plates series but hard to find and a lot of bank when you do.

Be careful storing Sizzlers as their batteries do corrode and destroy the rest of your collection. Many remove the batteries to prevent that from occurring. While you are in there you most likely will encounter a build up on the car itself which will ruin the chrome polish and eat away at the paint and wheels of other cars that the fumes can get to.

Very First examples of the Rear Loading Beach Bomb including the large pattern. All were sold except the Green Resin which was the first attempt at the casting.

I see what they did though-they melted shut the body tabs that slip into the chassis so if ya want to remove it you have to break those. And I agree with you that the corrosive stuff could migrate to other cars in storage-I think it actually did on one two in particular; a light green Matchbox Lincoln and a Corgi Junior transport van both have corroded chassis metal to the exclusion of all the hundreds of others and I suspect it's because of that Sizzler tucked next to those two for decades.

Neat!! Did ya see my Beachbomb-it's a darker metallic green but those surfboards are long gone. I wonder if I could get away with fabbing a couple?
