    Hi everyone,
Im looking for a little advice/experience here. I have a 2011 double cab that I am going to install heated seats in. Ive read mixed opinions and methods as to where to tap in for power. Some people say to wire directly to the battery, others used the fuse panel under the dash. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Gabe

Heated seats have 2 circuits. One for heat, one for control. Wire the heating circuit to the battery fused near the battery. I used an add a fuse for the control power, picking a fuse that was switched with the key.

Even though the seat heaters are directly wired to the battery, as long as the control is wired to an keyed ignition source such as the cigarette lighter, the seats cannot be turned on while the car is off, right?

Same. I ordered a Dorman kit off there and it works really well (and gets nice and toasty quickly). It's hotter than a fair amount of factory heated seats I've used.
