Getting ready to purchase a new HU for my truck and now leaning towards Kenwood (DDX9704s or 9703s), originally was looking at Pioneer but I didn't like the interface.

Tried the kenwood out at best buy and the interface was responsive, screen looked good, and the apple car play worked well (the car play kept crashing on the pioneer. I'm guess that is due to i'm on IOS 11.2.5)

The Kenwood DDX9704s has two USBs, and I'm trying to find out if anyone has added a 2nd USB port to one of the blank locations next to the stock USB/Aux ports. I found the following on ebay, and I think it will work:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Tacoma-USB-port-for-center-console/162829421272?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

I'd like to know if the above adapter is correct (assuming that the ends mate up with the radio or possibly add an adapter cable) and how difficult it is to install in one of the available blank locations.

    Thanks in advance

A few mods here and there and counting....
Straight forward and as easy as plugging in the usb ends. If its too short to reach the head unit, you would just need a usb extension.

awesome...I bought a male to female USB cable cause I expect it to be too short to reach the HU.

Thanks for the info, can't wait for all the parts to get here and get everything installed.

interesting. When i did mine (with the 6904), I was looking for that EXACT SAME ADAPTER, and never found the one you did. (Would have wanted one with two USBs in the same housing.)

Found a couple on Amazon, but wasn't sure they'd fit. So I wound up cutting square holes in the existing little cutout (drill press, dremel, file), and mounted the USB plugs in that. Not perfect, but it works.

Looks like your work came out really good.

only reason I went with a single, is that my truck came stock with the USB/AUX port combo in one of the positions. So I only needed to add one USB port to be able to make use of both of the USB ports on the new head unit.
