2016 / 2017 New Year Camping & Exploring/Road Trip.

Happy New Year..!!!

Just came back from an awesome trip, New Year Camping & Exploring. Who can ask for a better end of 2016 and start to 2017...!!!

My family and a few friends headed out on December 30th, we left at around 10:30am from Weston, Florida. Our plan, was to camp & do a mini road trip, may be explor some back roads...

So We loaded up the Tacoma and my father in-law loaded up his 2016 4Runner Limited 4WD. We camped in Palmdale, Florida - Fisheating Creek Outpost. The camp site was very nice, clean bathrooms and the views were awesome, lots of cool activities as well. The one HORRIBLE down side, US-27 is literately in the background.. So at night you hear lots of Trucks, Bikes and Cars zooming by NOT cool..

January 1st 2017 -we headed West to Sanibel, Florida. My wife and I always go to the beach on New Years day. Once we dipped our feet in the water, we had a small picnic and headed East towards Picayune Strand Forest.

I wanted to check out their camp site and see how the facility's were. We tried to get in before dark, and were thinking of camping the 1st -2nd but I must have not understood the directions, and never found the campsite..

So back home it was.. All an all the trip was awesome, the Tacoma as you can see was the mule.. This truck is truly amazing.. Now to some pictures, please pardon my rookie pics..

 

Had a few drinks with some buddy's last night. At one point we thought we were Heeps... I'll let the pictures do the talking..

 

2017 - Citrus Wildlife Management Area. Camping & Wheeling Trip.

Just got back from a 3 day 2 Night Camping & Wheeling trip with a few buddy's. We camped and wheeled Citrus Wildlife Management Area, in Florida. Really nice place, a few cool technical trails. The camp ground was decent, and very primitive, not that we wanted more but it's nice when you have a table and fire ring on the site. My buddy Guillermo takes all the credit for these amazing pictures....

 

Kenwood - HAM Radio (TM-281A).

On my last trip my trusty Baofeng Radio just stopped working. I had it for about 4 years, so can't complain. I almost bought another Baofeng, but I also wanted a built in unit.

I don't know a lot about communication VHF/UHF and so on... I just wanted something simple so I can talk with my buddies on the trail and that it would fit in the slot next to the gear shiftier. I went with the Kenwood TM-281A fit like a glove and the install was very straight forward.
