I've searched a bit and didn't turn up anything specific, so here goes...

I have a 2018 DBSB OR and have an appointment to get my windows tinted. I saw in the owner's manual that tinting the front windshield with a "sun strip" is not recommended. I have always done this, but I know that some of the TSS sensors/cameras are mounted up high on the windshield.
My tint place assures me that everything will be just fine with a sunstrip, but I was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with window tint on the windshield on a truck that is equipped with TSS.
Oh, I'll be using ceramic tint, nothing metallic.
    Thoughts?

    Thank you,
    Shannon

The tint would just need a cutout around the viewing angle of the camera, as long as that remains cleared space you won't run into any issues with tinting

Something like this? Pg 231 of the owner's manual...
I was hoping to avoid the cut-out entirely, but I know that would be going directly against the recommendation.

Exactly. If there is any viewing obstructions it will throw everything out of wack. I've seen excessive dirt cause the lane departure warning system wig out.

Well, hopefully my guy has a steady hand and can make a decent cut-out. I was just afraid it wouldn't look very nice, so had considered just skipping the sunstrip all-together. Although, I guess if he cuts it out and it looks a mess I can just remove the sunstrip at that point.
Thanks very much for the replies!
