I recently purchased a 2018 TRD PRO (OEM) grill and it just arrived today. Unfortunately, it arrived with a broken tab from the top right. Is anyone aware if it will still be secure if I install it?

It’s been stated a few times a broken tab or 2 is no biggie. I wish I could get to the bottom of the part number thing

Are you sure both part numbers are for the 2018

ETA: Looks like the 80 is for 2018 and 70 for 2016-17

I have contacted several dealers a few weeks ago regarding the Pro grille for the 18. One told me they were discontinued and told me I had to order the 17 version...idiot. After that, a few others told me the item was on national backorder and currently on a stop sale until they are caught up. I suspect this is why some dealers are only selling to Pro owners.

Wow that's crazy that they're cracking down on non-Pro guys purchasing Pro grills.
I just got mine in the mail yesterday thankfully!

Sadly, nearly all the clips ended up breaking on the stock grill. They were so brittle. So rather than selling for $120+, I'll only get like half.

So I called my local dealer after the cancellations, gave him part number he ordered said it would be in tomorrow? He didn’t say anything about bringing a registration. Well see I guess

Toyota did this with the Baja wheels back in 2012-3, and the Pro grille in 2015. I tried to bribe a parts guy in 2012 to order me a set of the Baja wheels and I couldn't get my hands on them. The only way to get them was to provide proof of damage, basically. Some members had friends at dealers order one a month and that seemed to work, but Toyota definitely wants to control this. They can't be blind to the fact that a large contingent of the enthusiasts dislike the TRD grills, but why not make the Pro grille different now (add some sort of LED setup or something) and make the regular TRD grille a profit center for them.

I'm hoping the Pro fogs aren't similar now, I was hoping to purchase a set in the not too distant future.

Placed the order this past Thursday, so I haven't received it yet, but looking at this video a member posted, you can see the grill surround is removed and not reinstalled

Shot down by local dealership today. Toyota intercepted the order and wanted a vin \ reason so they canceled order. Found another local dealer who was super cool he said get me a local vin of internet which I did and a reason for replacement. Said it should be in Wednesday at the latest. I have the garnish that was the easy part !
