My buddy did a stupid and looked at the wrong foot pound measurements, and sheared this bolt. It’s a 2001 4 x 4, the lower bolt off of the shock absorbency in the rear. What size bolt is this? I want to make sure to get the right one. It looks like a 17 mm with fine thread, but I could be wrong.

Take it to the hardware store and use the little bolt tester jig to size it up. Make sure you get metric grade 8.8 or 10.9. Chances are the bolt head in the new bolt will be bigger but that doesnt really matter.
