Hey Guys, just installed a Boyo VTL420 back-up camera in my son's 2006 Tacoma. We hooked it up to his also new Pioneer AVH-1300 Head Unit. Our problem is sometimes there is a 3 to 5 second delay from when the truck is put into reverse and the display comes on with the rear view, sometimes it does not come on at all. Does this sound like a ground issue? Also, I did use a heavier gauge wire (it's all I had on hand) to jump from the head unit down to the drivers side kick panel to wire into the reverse lights, could this be an issue? Thanks......Mark.

The one in my Kenwood just switched over when there is a signal from the camera. No reverse signal needed.

Mine just started doing the same thing but it's a Pioneer AVH4200NEX. Thought it was just the cold.

Did you tap for reverse signal in the cab? If you did, test to make sure you're getting close to 12v.

I always tap at the reverse light, to assure that I'm getting a 12v signal.

Yes, I pulled from the red wire behind driver's kick panel.

Test the voltage with a multimeter.

Long over due update, had son take it to a stereo shop and 30 minutes and $35 later it works. Best money i ever spent, we screwed around for several hours chasing that issue. Sorry but no clue what they did. Learned my lesson though, stick with what I know lol.

Old post I know I know...But I figured others might be having this issue as well

Anyways..I installed an ESKY Hd back up camera 170 degree into my 2004 with a Pioneer Avhp3200dvd head unit and in having a Delay when throw I beg it into reverse and I’m also getting the “Caution Screen image may appear reversed” screen popping up at random

I tapped into the Red & Black wire in my Driver side tail Light. Heard another member mentioned that’s the Reverse Positive Wire. I also grounded the negative wire onto the body behind the tail light. I have the Yellow RCA video cable with the red wire pigtail, I tied that red wire in with the others with the Red & black Positives and ran the other end to the Head unit & Plus goes it in and tied the red pigtail wire with the Violet/white “labeled Reverse Wire in the back of my Pioneeer HU

Any ideas Guys ?!?!? Maybe cold whether or my Ground and or I tapped into the wrong Reverse wire ?

    Thank in advance
