Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
    Hey guys!

Just picked up my first taco a couple weeks ago and got a killer deal on a LB that I couldn't pass up. My question is...is it possible for a LB to hit the trails and become a killer overland build? I am assuming I would need a lift and some sliders to start with to get more clearance for the land limo. Links to any builds would be greatly appreciated!

Sure. You’re just gonna have a less desireable breakover angle. But a long bed is needed AFAIC when it comes to expeditionary shit.

    Enjoy the limo!

I run my TRD OR LB on trails but I am careful as to get into on the trail before hand. The long breakover can be difficult but most Overland travel isn't for narly trails. I run sliders with a kick out in case. The long bed is great for sleeping and all the cargo for Overland travel trust me. I prefer the Overland or truck camping and wheeling to just wheeling......makes things more interesting.

If I could do it again, I would of bought a long bed. I don't see any downfalls of owning one, its more capable in my opinion

Not at all - what are you thinking? That you could drive, over land, in a LOOOOONNNGGGG Bed? Get real kid. In order to be the best overlander the land has ever been under, you need a few things.

First things first: take a $8k hit and trade that POS LB in for a real mans truck, a DCSB. Then, affirm your decision by telling everyone "it's okay, ill just get a bed extender if I need it."
Then: Take a $3k hit for a tent. Why $3k? Well, you need to buy some shoddy-welded steel tubing for a "bed rack" and then plop a queen sized mattress-sized tent on top if it. This leaves room on the sides for extra gas cans and maxx traxx things, which you need to keep shiny and new.

Don't think I forgot about the light bar. Spend whatever money you have left mounting LED pod lights wherever you can on the truck. This will ensure you will have light when you are stuck overnight after getting high centered on an 8" vertical curve in your ginormous long bed.
