Could this be source of leak?

    2004 PreRunner Xtracab 2.7l 3RZFE automatic 2WD.

    Not much of a mechanic, would greatly appreciate some input on how big a deal this is.

    The pictures are of the automatic transmission where it bolts to the engine. Does that look like it could be the source of a leak under pressure, or probably just superficial? No idea how it happened.

    The Bed is stock...ish
    Looks like you might have a rear main seal leaking. I can't really see anything in the pictures on my phone, but if it's coming from inside the bellhousing and it is oil, then it's a rear main. If it's ATF, then it's a pump seal.

    When looking for an oil leak, or any leak, look up and forward. Gravity pulls it down, wind blows it back.

    Do the newer Toyota still have the fiber rear main seal?????
    Those seals lasted way longer than the new all rubber ones.
    You could be having a valve cover leak.
    Also on the older V6, in the back of the head, there was a round rubber lined cam plug that always leaked.
    I don't know if the newer engines are the same.

    Mine looked the same and it was a valve cover leak
