I've had my 2017 TRD OR for nearly a year now and I can't rave more about its capability off road in stock form. I've put roughly 14,500mi on it so far and while the tires have gotten louder over time and a little rougher on pavement, much to my dismay Toyota seemed to have picked out a great stock tire for their OR and PRO models. Sure they don't look aggressive, but they definitely do their job just fine. My truck is completely stock, minus a rear recovery point that I have yet to use.

I typically take my truck off road for "maintenance purposes", usually around the wildlife management areas here on Fort Gordon to get to some of the more hidden away areas to fly fish and that requires me to take on some trails full of soft sand, thick mud and Georgia clay.

Well my fly rod tip broke and I am currently saving up for our upcoming wedding in a few months and our new home so buying a new fly rod is out of question this minute, so this weekend I decided I would just go exploring and go on an adventure going off road this weekend around post looking for some places I have never driven before.

During this tiny trip, I traversed some steep angles (for a Floridian of course), some thick mud, sticky clay and soft sand up and down hill with fallen branches and tiny rocks everywhere. There were times where I got lost on narrow trails, not knowing where I was going and what was to come ahead; but this little truck just kept on moving along. Not obstacle would stop her, and I rarely used 4Hi unless I was going up a steep incline in soft sand. The tires did an amazing job doing what they do best, self cleaned fairly well for an A/T tire, and didn't puncture.

Overall I am constantly surprised and impressed with the capabilities of this truck, even considering buying out my lease later on (buy out is at $25K) and I am still stuck with the Goodyear Wrangler Adventures. While I do dream of some STT/STT Pro's in 255/85r16 to replace these tires, I think Toyota definitely did a great job in providing a stock tire that has great on road manners and will take whatever harsh adventures you throw at it.

I agree that those Goodyears are great all-around tires. I have them on a work truck and can see snow, mud, and 100 mph responses all on the same day, and they haven't let me down.
