Ordered a sleeping bag this morning from the Amazon.com so I can test out this weekend!

Even got my camping box together on Saturday so it is ready to go as well.

    Hell. To. The. Yes.

    Def going for that winch!

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00363PRK6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I just ordered that one... hopefully it keeps me warm enough, but may go ahead and bring an extra blanket that I can throw on top of as well as a moving blanket that will be going underneath my sleeping bad as I will be sleeping in the back of the truck again.

That's a great deal for the Coleman bag. Especially since its the oversize version. I think im going to pick up a 30 degree bag from Academy. They have one for about $15.

yea, wanted to see how this one did this weekend since temps were going to be colder. Did not want to throw down a ton of money on a bag, so going to test this one out and had a $25 gift card to Amazon. If it doesn't work out... then will have a spare bag or send it back to Amazon and get something else.

They had one that was more for colder temps, but since we live in Texas... and wanting to use this bag for Jambo as well... though it may be better to do this one.

Ive added a screenshot from Weatherbug to the OP and will update if it changes, for now it looks like the coldest nights will be Thurs and Fri. I think my gear is okay for 50-60 degrees

Nice, looks like good temps for Sat-Sun

It would be a lot nicer if I could actually close up the tailgate... but that isn't going to happen with my tall self.

I was planning on going to try and bring a good amount of firewood with me on Saturday so we can have a nice fire that night. If that would be worthwhile.

Who all is planning to head out there Friday? @Tundra2Play and I will probably leave DFW before morning rush hour hits to make our volunteer shift at noon.

Ok, I will see what I can do. I have to go get it from a friends house this week then. Was supposed to yesterday, but lost track of time.

Will be there Saturday after I potentially die from running a 5k... luckily it starts at 7am.. so will be done by 8:30... so will just need to go home and grab the cooler and some other things and then head that way.

All I know is that the liquor store in Winona opens at 10am... so going to try and get there by 10:30 or so to grab what I need.

Cool. I think I still have your number unless you changed it since we went to Gilmer last time.

Still thinking of trying to get Old Camp?

I will be sure to check this thread when I head that way on Saturday to make sure though.

I think @Suprajim54 will check it out if its open, check high rollers too. I talked to craig yesterday and he said he would save us some room at TX4WD if we need.

I borrowed a 10x10 canopy from a friend, so between that, my small tent and John's pop up barracks and a couple others, we should be able to stake out a large spot. We'll try Old Camp first to get away from the crowds with High Roller coming second. Otherwise it'll be near electric camp or TX4WD site.
