Fellas, I recently installed a Volant CAI about a week ago. Upon driving the truck after installation, I noticed the "check engine" light and another one below it have been on since I installed it. I'm assuming this has to do with deleting the secondary filter as there is an electrical plug that is now obsolete. Also, can't tell whether or not gas mileage is any better. Does disconnecting the MAF and plugging it back in cause a little worse fuel mileage? I figured a 4cyl/5sp truck could get high 20's mpg. But then again most of my driving is stop/go traffic haha.
I enjoy adding new parts to vehicles but I'm still ignorant to a lot of things. Any advice is appreciated!

Is the filter a oil type? If so it’s possible you over oiled and some was sucked in and got. The maf dirty which is causing it to throw the check engine light. Pull it out and clean it or replace it and see if that helps. As for the second light that is your slip indicator that should only be on when. Your stability or traction control is on. With a combination of both those lights it’s possible that your traction or stability control has failed or has an issue. Bring your truck into a auto parts store and have then scan it and give you all the codes your car throws so you can look them up and see whats wrong.
