Okay, so, I have an idea for a mod. I havent seen it done before, and considering I have very little fabrication know-how, I would like to share this fetus of an idea with everyone with the hopes that the hive mind will help me figure out a way to change tailgating/ camping forever.

Or, if you'e seen this before, please point me in the right direction, as I have Looked!

P.s. Please excuse the poor drawing/ writing!. I will attempt to explain my thought process the best I can!

Okay, so the main idea behind this is to extend "counter space" when your tailgate is dropped. In my mind, this is done by attachting 3 sided tubing to the inner sides of the tailgate (with the open sides facing the left and right sides) using the factory bolt holes that hold the plastic lining. Then by sliding a piece of steel into the grooves of that 3 sided tubing from the rear of the vehicle. Any thoughts/modifications as to how to better anchor the plate, or make it where it can fold in on itself rather than being 3 different pieces, etc? Or is this just a dumb idea altogether?
