Is this part of the truck’s body strong enough to take this kind of punishment? I’m thinking about making bolt on sliders but wondering where to attach them.

They attach to the Frame, they will be Rock Solid.

Factory bolt holes under the rocker panel are not strong enough to take the punishment. Need to bolt or weld to the frame.

That’s what I thought. Anybody got pics of where on the frame to bolt them?

That’s a great thread. Thanks a ton for sharing those files!

So if I take the right files to a laser cutter they can make those plates? I’m kind of old school and used to grinders, chop saws and oxy acetylene...

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
These are Mobtown sliders. They bolt on to the frame. I have these and can testify that they can take a hit.

Yes. They can work off the dwg file directly. They will need to also have a heavy duty break to bend them to shaps. If you want to go old school you can print that file to scale at FedEx office or whatever printer you may have local and then cut them out using the print as a template And then cut and weld on the bended pieces instead. Obviously not the ideal method but it could work in a pinch and save on laser costs. Also you can beef them up and just use the template as a start point. Many many ways you can skin this cat

Mobtown sliders also use a bracket that wrap around the frame.

I just installed the Mobtown sliders this weekend . Very heavy duty and no drilling. 20180217_144336.jpg 20180219_164805.jpg

Did you paint those yourself? If so, what did you use?

I used Rustoleum black textured paint. I had used this paint previously on a pair of powder coated bumpers for touch up and it matched perfectly. I did two coats of primer and three coats of paint. 20180203_150915.jpg
