I'm glad NC is lax compared to what I am hearing from all you guys about what fails in these other states.

Leaking air big time. Same shit Jimmy's was doing. And a bad solenoid. Was leaking air out the vent when not even on. I was told that they almost never go bad.
As far as the leaky seals in the ARB, I was told mine was the 19th repair since the beginning of December for them. Something is going on QC wise at ARB.

You’re taking about the va state inspection, right? Unless something has changed since I lived there a few years ago, it’s not actually linked to your registration. If you get pulled over with a failed inspection it’s just a slap on the wrist and a $70 fine that doesn’t mean anything.

That sucks big time. So you, @HolyHandGrenade AND @M192 have the same issue? I hope mine and @V5ioV ‘s third are not part of that QC problem.

@TNT4X4 have you seen any issues from your customer base?

Yep, it appears we all had/have the same issue. Your front locker should be ok. Haven't heard of any issues with those

I emailed ecgs last night about 950pm for pricing on the seals for the locker. Chase sent me a formal quote by 952pm. I couldn't believe it!

No sir, but it's offseason for wheeling for a lot of guys, if there is an issue, I'd expect a lot of them to show their faces as spring approaches. Installed two ARB equipped 3rds since early December, one of them being my own front diff, used it fine a week and a half ago in the pines but only used it for about 30 seconds to get myself out of a soft sand spot that I found myself in from not paying attention and driving in 2wd unlocked, instantly went to 4hi double locked when trying to back up unlocked in 2wd only sunk me down. So for all I know, there could be a leaking issue with my front diff that didn't even have a chance to show because it was locked for less than 30 seconds. @planters15 @Wheelspinner, might want to keep this in mind, I'll reach out to the one truck that I did around the time of my front locker and I'll mention it to other guy I'm rehearing in the next couple weeks.

EDIT: I installed a front and rear ARB late dec/early Jan, both were assembled around that time at ECGS. Q has a pre existing rear ARB and a newly built front ARB built within the last 2 weeks. Figured I'd clarify this in case this turns out to be a batching/build time issue from ARB.

I have nothing but high praise for chase at ECGS, I have never once even had a hint of a bad experience with him and I place at least one order a month with ECGS. I don't buy parts to regear jeeps or toyotas anywhere else, hands down absolute best service and they have very fair pricing to go with it.

Is this issue only on the rear or for front lockers as well.

Not sure, maybe @HolyHandGrenade and @stairgod have some more info on what's going on. I kinda just stumbled into this, just figured I'd share what my experience has been thus far.

From what Chase told me, it sounds like it is the cap seal. And @planters15 , all of the diff issues that I know of are rear.

Oh man that is a bummer I had kinda the opposite. I had the seals fail and oil would splurge out my rear locker solonoid. Guess all Toyota rear diff styles have common air locker issues. Easy to fix and chase at ecgs sent me the parts for free they deff are the best in the business.

I have gear oil coming up my breather ever since I regeared and locked the front, but my compressor barely ever runs so I feel that it’s not leaking, and I have never heard air coming out of the breather with it engaged. I want to try to extend my front breathers even more just to hopefully keep the oil from seeping.
