Hello everyone! I am the proud owner of a brand new 2018 Tacoma TRD sport 4x2 in cement! And before you ask “why not a 4x4” just keep reading lol

I am a Sanitation Engineer… and my hobby is racing motorcycles. I often travel long distances to try new tracks. Trailering and being limited to 55 MPH was killing me so I bought the Taco to help me scratch my itch easier. I have a few ideas about what I want:

    In no particular order

    - Headache bar that connects with a cab mounted cargo carrier

    - Winch on the headache bar (for one man loading of motorcycles)

    - Pitbull trailer restraint in the bed

    - The obligatory LED light bar (after upgrading all the OEM lights)

    - Beefy wheels and tires (what’s the best spec for no lift no rub?)

    - TRD Pro Grill (haven’t found a DIY on replacing it might have to make my own, FYI the 2018 have a sensor in the logo)

Anyone have any input on what else I should add to my list?

What motorcycle and how the hell do you expect to fit it in your bed AND a pit bull TR? My TR extends my bikes length in my trailer to the mounting point enough that there is no hope in hell I could mount it in my long bed.

Now how do you expect to winch your bike in?

I apologize if you have all of this covered but unless you have a fancy bed lengthener that is substantial enough to mount the TR and be solidly mounted to the truck I can not see what you are attempting as being possible.

I feel you on all these concerns! Its on 07 r6. I will not be able to close the tailgate but I plan on pulling the bike up the ramp with a winch backward. The winch will be attached the TR arm that connects to rear axle of the bike. That is my thought. In addition I will putting the plate for the TR under the bike instead of behind it which will allow me to butt the rear tire up against the front of the bed. Wheel base is of the r6 is ~80 in so that should put the front tire on the tail gate. Which I also plan on reinforcing.

Welcome aboard! Definitely look into some 265/75/16s or 265/70/17s. These are the largest tire you can fit on stock suspension without rubbing issues

unfortunately i do not sir.. sorry about that.. im a stock/toyota wheels w/ larger tires kind of guy myself so i dont have much knowledge of what the best aftermarket wheels/backspacing/offset are. Im sure someone else will chime in though with more info. Do you know what kind of wheels you want to run? You wont encounter any problems running the stock wheels with the sizes i mentioned above, but im just not sure what kind of wheels you like

So you will pull it up with the TR arm then remove it and flip it under the bike followed by backing it up a few more inches to lock it in?
