I have the factory hard tonneau cover on my 2017 tacoma. Has anyone ever used this mount with. A 33 inch tire and been able to keep their tonneau cover ? Please let me know

    Bump.

I'm getting my spare wheel today and looking for mounting options. I've got 32's.

At first glance, it looks like you drill into the bed and mount it however deep you need to. Provided your 33 isn't too tall I think you'd be okay.

This was posted when talking about extra d-rings:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/front-tie-downs.521184/page-3#post-16598723

adriancast posted the source for that strap in Post 81 of that thread.

IMVHO, I'd rather tie down to d rings instead of drilling holes in the bed.

Also, I remember seeing a post about trimming off the flanges for the spare tire under the truck to allow a bigger tire to fit.

Ya I thought about going under the truck. But I like having the added weight more towards the cab rather than the ass of my truck. And my wheels are nice. I don’t want them totally nasty from being underneath or the chance they could hit rocks and what not. That’s why I wanna do the bed thank you!
