Can't wait for the trails to open and to get out to Minden.

Since I know now how Minden is and that the first water crossing is the hardest come first weekend at the trailer I'll do the 30 min drive and check how levels are.

I had been trying to message this guy on Kijiji for over a week. As soon as I saw the trailer ad I wanted it. My tool boxes would fit perfectly in there with ample access from both sides. Numerous email and Kijiji chat attempts but not one response. No phone only info was a postal code. I figured that the emails were going to spam and started to lose hope. Thought I should be able to find a broken down air compressor/generator on a trailer to gut so I took 4 hours out of my day to scour the city, nothing. I went to rental places, large construction company equipment yards, scrap yards, nothing. Online I could only find working compressors, seems Ingersoll Rand made a reliable product mid 2000. Next day went to finish a tile job then to my favourite coffee shop down the street to organize my day. Shot the shit with the owner and mentioned my predicament with this trailer. He mentioned I might be able to find an exact address with the postal code. Canada post website was shit and calling in lead me in circles. Google mapped the address and got a pinpoint in the middle of a field. High off delicious coffee and sheer will I said fuck it. Hopped in the truck and headed out to some random farmers field just outside London. Plan was to go where Google said the postal code was from and start talking to locals to see if anyone recognized the trailer or the property in the ad pics. On my way into and through these small towns I drove slow looking for any barns that matched the pics. 1st stop was the exact field google pinpointed. Talked to the homeowner she said her postal code didn't match and to try a few km down the road. Stopped at a tire shop and asked the same questions, seems the mail system is squirrelly around these little towns. One of the employees pulls out a hand written chart and says "there it it is" turns out it was a Talbotville address. She tells me to go back up the road I came from and make a right. As I begin to leave the owner stops me and says "I know they told you to go that way, but if you continue down this road and make a left at the lights it quicker" I said thanks and took the old man's advice. Driving down I figured it wouldn't hurt to talk to some locals closer to Talbotville to see if anyone had any info. Saw shop with a couple of trucks parked in front and decided to stop in. Was greeted with a "how can I help you?" I explained my story and showed him the images from the ad. "he looked at it for 20 seconds and says" I'm pretty sure I know that barn. Head down this street and make a left, right past the church on the right. I only know because a friend of mine was looking to buy this property. I'm pretty sure it's that one". Thanked him and drove straight there. Pull into the driveway and there she was. Little burgundy beauty. Highlander parked in the driveway so I figured someone was home, there was but they couldn't answer the door as they were dogs. Went around to a couple of the neighbours and asked if they knew how I could get a hold of anyone, nothing. Step out of the neighbours yard and I see the same pickup that was in the ad background, in the driveway. Sweet. Knocked and was greeted by a slightly bewildered bearded farm worker. Told him "I'm here to look at the trailer. Just drove from Windsor so definitely not kicking tires." we looked at it. Had one flat, 15" rims and a plywood back DOOR. Offered $600 and he took it.
"Now I need to go grab a pinto hook" I said.
"I'll sell you mine" he responded.
$80 later I'm slipping in a $150 pinto hook into the receiver. He aired up the tire and off I went. Figured I'd stop at the two places that lead me to the trailer and say thanks. Second stop was the tire shop. While I was there I asked Stan, the owner to look at the tires. They had deep cracks and I didn't want to risk any bullshit on the highway. He said they should be ok. I mentioned I want to put 32's on them. One of the employees chimes in
    "give me a minute"
comes back out with 2 31" tires with like half the tread left. I look at Stan,
    "$80 mounted for both?"
    "Yeah we can do that."
They start the process while I remove the fenders. This is when I noticed that it has a torsion axle, sweet. Joked around with the guys. Helped them with the biggest tire I've ever seen and asked if I can pay. Stan obliged. Followed him into the office.
"the girl will write you up, what was it we said... $50?"
Thinking he meant $50 a tire I said "pretty sure we said $40 a piece"
He smiled and told "the girl" $50. At this point I realized he was saying $50 total. Thanked him paid and back to Windsor. As I was driving I thought of all these little things that Had to have happened for me to actually get this fuckin little trailer. Lots of luck and a little hardheadedness.

I've got similar lights mounted on the side of my c@#% rack (1 on the cab, 1 on the cap). They're only 3" long and don't rotate either, but they provide enough light at camp that isn't crazy bright but enough to see.

So Ridgid makes these angled-inserts for flush mount lights. When you put it behind the light it effectively changes the flush-mount light angle by 10-15 degrees. So I could use these to angle the light bars on the side of the rack down at the ground.

Only shitty part is they cost $60 each from ridgid which is mental for a piece of plastic.

Im going to look into possibly learning 3d printing/modelling software to make my own, and maybe include them with the rack. I know you can get stuff 3d printed fairly cheap if you have a design already made. Could make a bunch out of ABS plastic and include the lights with the rack.

Literally just cut a piece of flat stock and drilled 2 holes and sandwiched the rack between them, I was in a rush before a trip lol. They just point straight out, no angle, for me it works. I'l try and remember to get a picture tomorrow. Your idea does sound great though.
