Time to rebuild my 50 watt pods

 

im still in the process of my ground up rebuild on my 80....I havent been able to financially support it as I finally got everything all in one place and got to paying shit off. Doesn't help my enlistment is up in Jan and I have to figure out wtf I'm gonna do, so im kinda at a lost point and not sure wtf is gonna happen right now...or even if my 80 is ever going to get finished.

Well, I gave it the broke-down old man effort, but it looks like the Great OGT Front End Rebuild is going to run into day 4. I was close though...



All those shiny new black parts kinda look like the Hope diamond in a huge pile of dog shit, lol. Those brakes are sexy though. Too bad this is the best they are ever gonna look.

Anyway, all that's left is to bleed the brakes and put the tars back on and it'll be finished.

Getting old sux. This morning, after three days of working on the truck, I had to take a couple of Motrin for muscle soreness, a couple of Aleve for joint soreness, an Osteo Biflex (which i take every day) to prevent joint pain, and a Zyrtec from breathing the mass quantities of pollen the oak trees in our yard are producing...in addition to a couple of prescription meds I take daily.

The only plus side is the new meds the doctor put me on (coupled, no doubt, with all the work I've been putting in on the OGT) have made me lose about 15 lbs so far.

The OGT is back on her tars! The brakes feel much better now. They don't yank me to the left now when I step on them and they seem to work better too. Plus, I finally figured out a system to pressure bleed them. Still need to fine tune it a bit because I just used parts what I had on hand, but it works.

She's still got a pull to the right and it seems a little heavier now, but since I replaced the upper and lower ball joints, I need to get her aligned again anyway...not that the last three alignments have been able to get rid of it. That December trip to Hardrock a couple years ago effed something up bad. She hasn't been the same since.

Heading to Todd's on Sunday to complete the bumper. That'll be the real test. On the way home from Lakeland after the main parts of the bumper where installed, the vibrations were almost scary. I'm really hoping those are gone now that everything's like a German virgin up there.

thanks again @Trident904 Thought i would post up some pics. The sound is sharp n crisp way better than stock,but looking for a lil bass so might do a hideaway under the seat sub.

 

Any ideas of product yet for the under seat sub?

I'm finally getting to that point. CT sounds everything including the amp which was the last piece.

 

I have stock OEM free speakers. Ill post up some pics in the free thread.

 

I've been happy with the stock JBL. Considering in my youth I dabbled a bit with IASCA and db Drags, I've become more tolerant of OEM sound systems.

 

get a ********* box! i have their dual 12 box and 6.75" component speakers, tweeters, crossovers, and both amps and the rack...that shit is awesome!

 

I thought about behind the seat system but dont wanna take up any cargo space. Taco tunes makes some nice stuff for sure.
