I know! You, sir, need a TW sticker. I happen to know where some of the contraband ones still are.
I think I've seen that truck at an apartment complex off of Slaughter and 1st. Calling the police tip line now.

It probably isn't the same truck - you can see lifted Dodge Douchebags towing ghosts all up and down Slaughter any of time of the day or night.

Spod should make that much easier.

    I think @Tynan @TX_Lucian and @riz_atx run them.
Maybe they can chime in with some helpful tips.

We all run SwitchPro 8100's... im not sure if a Spod is similar in wiring or not. The switch pro was pretty easy though...

First thing, disconnect positive and negative battery terminals over night so truck re learns driving. Second thing, do a pan drop on trans. This will show you condition of the fluid, how much material is on the magnets, see if there's any chunks of metal, and it cleans the filter screen. Third thing, make sure fluid level is correct. 5 quarts ought to take care of a pan drop, then needs to be put in temp check mode to get the correct level. There's a thread on this, easy to find. Depending on the findings of the pan drop will tell if the trans has more serious issues.

Also, could be related to dirty intake, ignition, and injectors. To remedy this, replace air filter if dirty, or clean, and not over oil filter, clean the MAF, clean the TB, replace spark plugs with OEM, run can of sea foam on a 1/4 tank of gas for about 50miles, then fill up and another can of sea foam. This should mitigate any ignition related sputtering.

Stock coils for now. I'll probably get 886s when i get a new bumper. Leaning toward ARB, unless we have anyone who does custom builds in this group. Eventually I'll sack up and get Dakars as well. The modding list goes on.... :goingcrazy:

I'll probably end up trimming the boots for now and see how that goes.

    Thank you

Interesting that you guys would bring this up because I would like yalls advice on a related matter.

I'm getting a Tacoma. A good 2nd gen (2014 OR MT) is going for ~26/27k with ~35k miles. A used 16 with relatively same mileage is going for ~28/29k. A new one goes for 33/34k new. I dont think new is the way to go because Ill end up voiding all warranties modding it like you all.

Whats the smart play here? 2nd gen with outdated interior but known issues, or 2016, slightly more money, better interior but a risky track record with the 3rd gens?

    Man!!! That's a super toughy!!!

Totally a decision that YOU will have to ultimately make.

BUT, I'd suggest going with the 2014 OR with the Manual Tranny.

Hard to beat the tried and true 1GR-FE!
Your paint will be fine, heck the flaps!!!
