Thanks for all the education you’ve really helped me out in my lighting situation. I’m totally happy with this upgrade.

@Toy4me -- that relay bracket worked just fine and thanks again!

    My 2cents...

Went from complete stock to oem harness and Volsa +100 bulbs. Low beams were a bit better, but a good improvement on the high beams. I made no vertical nor horizontal adjustments to the housing when I made the switch.

I just now finished installing the Headlight Services harness and Osram hyperlights (the now discontinued ones... 85/80?). The low beam is notably better in the quality of white light and it's being thrown further down the road. The same is true for the high beams. Even though I again made no vertical not horizontal adjustments, the low beam cutoff is a bit higher than the Volsa +100 that were just in there. Despite this, nobody has flashed me so I will leave things alone.

Going from the oem harness and Volsa +100 bulbs to the aftermarket harness and Osrams was not a major difference. But it was a solid improvement overall. And now I have the flexibility to try different bulbs w/o worrying about taxing the harness.

Thanks again to @crashnburn80 for all the effort and others who have contributed.

Finally did the upgrade and went with the Volsa +100 bulbs. Wish I had done this years ago!

Just installed my harness last night, What a difference! I’m running the Hella 130/100 off road bulbs and I know they have a low life expectancy but it’s just what I have at the moment. I wasn’t convinced about this until I’ve tried it my self. The amount of useable light is awesome! Highly recommend anyone looking into these, don’t hesitate and just do it.

Especially at those wattages, the harness is going to provide the power those bulbs really need to reach their potential.

Excellent and Timely: Just obtained 2006 Taco. OEM lenses are scratched (a country Taco) and it never had fog lights (no brackets/hardware/wiring). What is the best approach for both upgrades?

You'll have to buy or make your own harness and then use the factory switch and lights and brackets. You could make your own and utilize an open realy and fuse port in your fuse box or purchase a harness and then go to the dealer and get the connectors and pins needed for the connectors so it plugs into the factory stuff without jerry rigging the connectors.

@z0six here’s a pic of my low beams with the harness an Sylvania ultra Silverstars with fog an about 200ft visibility without fog lights. Well worth the investment an got some Osrams waiting to be delivered.

It's not about how many lumens your lights put out, nor how goofy your font is. Most folks here seem to be focused on making actual, constructive contributions to help each other.

It's about how usable the lumens are and how well they work with the headlight design in order to throw a beam pattern that helps the driver without blinding oncoming traffic. This requires that the light be generated in a precise location in the bulb. I'm glad you have big lumens at a cheap price, but I am very doubtful that your beam pattern is useful and I think you'd be a little surprised at your actual lumens if you put a light meter on your headlights. It would be interesting to see your beam pattern compared to the H4's style bulbs the headlight actually was designed for. And to see your light output compared to that of, say... an H4 100/130.
