A spring outing that ended with a "bang". I think the only reason I put myself into situations where "things bottom out" truck wise is in an effort to convince myself that pulling the trigger on a suspension setup is the thing to do!_MG_8695.jpg

What are those lights on the bumper? I want to run something other than a bar.

These are the ones I believe!
    https://www.amazon.com/Lumitek-Head...pID=51fRmNgifuL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

although mine are the 96 watt version...which is plenty bright enough (the legit ARBs are also 96 I believe)
I wanted them because I was sick of looking at light bars...like the classic round look but wanted LEDs...these things are wicked bright...If you want I can post a pic of what they look like on (although those pictures never seem to do it justice).

I also like the classic look.
Online, I've seen a few mounted on original bumpers...they have all looked good.
I have a pair of HID hellas waiting to be mounted.

Other then having to remove the lights when removing the bumper, are there any other negatives?

Closeup of the lights and mounting would be appreciated.

I will post a close up and a picture of what they look like at night once I get the chance (within the next few days) once it stops raining here...(on the east cost and currently getting pounded by a storm).
I knew that I wasnt going to be replacing my front end anytime soon so I drilled holes right into the plastic and almost perfectly level part of the bumper (thanks toyota). The lights come with 1 big bolt but the brackets have 2 extra holes for more support...I drilled 3 holes per bracket in order to get them on there as solid as possible. There is a metal bar running through that section of the bumper but I stayed far enough out (away from the engine) to not interfere with that. The bolts are actually not too bad to install if you open the hood and have long arms. One thing to be mindful of is how FAT these lights are...totally caught me off guard but they are 3.5 in thick with the metal heat deflector ribs on the back...they fit pretty tight....but they definitely fit. They were fairly study with the 3 bolts but as I drive a fair amount of Washboard like dirt roads I opted to add 2 big zip ties to each light, pulling the light in towards the grill...one could probably find a prettier solution, but they are barely visible and don't bother me...and they give me piece of mind. like I said. I will back all this up with a picture or two next chance I get.

Nice! Looks like it turned out pretty good!? I'm thinking about mounting behind my grill. I have the stock grill now, but I'm hoping to fab up my own Satoshi grill at some point. Even though everyone has that set-up, I've always liked the look.

can't say I didn't consider that setup...when it came to it I wanted the 9in which would be tricky to get behind the grill, and it was less of a PITA to mount them up front...but im sure they would be sweet behind a satoshi as well!

After seeing how big they are on your truck, I wondered the same thing. Lol I may have to find a 7" alternative. I'll be sure and measure it out prior to pulling the trigger.

Nice. I'll check out ARBs web site. I would like my build to be mine, and just about everyone runs a light bar. Thank's @fs007

Alright here are some close ups of the way the lights were mounted. I will post night shots when I get the chance to take them! you can mounting hardware that came with the knock off ARB lights isn't top notch as it is already starting to rust...The middle bolt on the bottom is the one that came with the lights and the other two were added by me...The lights have a nice cover that fits over them but its a tad loose..not like fall off loose but annoying loose...I have also been told that the ARB amber covers will fit on the knock off lights.

Alright for anyone curious here is the light output these guys give compared to stock highs and lows. all shot on the same exposure...tried to get them as close to "what it actually looks like"...all from the same position off of the roof of the truck...the pine tree is bout 50 yards...enjoy

Love the side shooters! its like daylight 90degrees out to both sides of the truck....smartest thing I ever did was wire them independently to two switches...comes in super handy being able to just flick on one or the other... helped someone change a tire in the middle of the night last night...being able to just have the right one on...so we would work and not blind traffic was awesome...cop that showed up though it was sweet... made no comment to the "uncovered offload lights" (technically supposed to be covered on the roads in NH)

I must admit.. youve got me wanting to add some ditch lights to my truck now. Theyd be super helpful where i live since im in deer country. Im not a big fan of LEDs so id probably go with some piaa 510s to match the 520s i have up front. I definitely like the idea of wiring them up on separate switches. Like you said that could definitely come in handy!

Very impressive! Are the ditch lights a flood or spot type beam? Or do they state type at all?

beats me...didnt really say...I would say that they are a bit of both...the 3 leds that sit on either the left or right outside (there is a left and a right light to this set) ((as in each light only has sideshooting lights on one side)) are definitely floods but the main lights reach out pretty close to on par with the big spots in the front

Yeah man! you and me both! its legal to shine fields in the offseason here and they come in super handy! going past a field you can just flick one side on and check the whole thing as you roll by...I upgraded to the side shooters from regular led pods cause I've had a lot of instances where I've wanted to look at game straight off to the side of the road..these are awesome for that (and for setting up camp in the dark)... and I bet some piaa's would look slick mounted like that!
