Anybody out there running a ome 887 setup with bumper and winch?

Planning on doing 887s with dakars, Lr uca along with my arb bumper, xrc winch and ato rear bumper. I've got a 4x4 access cab. Got everything but the ome parts and I'm chomping to order it

I've been told the 886 is to much on an access cab even with armour and want to get it right the first time

Interested to hear some thoughts too. I first started with 885's but the rake was so much I went to 887's. Would be nice to be able to stay with them if I do go the front bumper route.

I have a bumper and winch and the 887 sits nice. It is a bit stiff but i like it, can go a bit quicker on the trails without bottoming out haha

OME 2.5 886 Dakkar suspension, ARE shell, with Thule bars and cargo rack,
I'll post pics in a bit. I just did the 886 on my 2015 DCSB last fall and the lift is 2.5" in the front and 2.25" in the back. Note - the back has an ARE shell and cargo rack - probably the reason for the difference. I'm putting sliders and a lightweight low profile bumper/winch on the front but even without those the stiffness doesn't bother me. This may be because I drive a 2015 Chevvy 2500 at work with a ridiculously stiff suspension.

OME 2.5 886 Dakkar suspension, ARE shell, with Thule bars and cargo rack,
Note - prior to OME 886 lift I upsized tires to the largest one could go to without rubbing 265-75-R16. I am not convinced I need to go bigger and I have other items on the build list such as rock sliders to put on first. Obviously bigger wheels and tires will now fit.

OME 2.5 886 Dakkar suspension, ARE shell, with Thule bars and cargo rack,
Cv's fine, no shimmy or other driving/handling changes other than as mentioned a good bit stiffer. The benefit of this setup is no changes required to diff, brakes, Etc. Had I gone 3" or higher then many changes. I only go off-road to get to cool places 2-3 times per year and so where I go is not like category 6 or higher Jeep Safari trials. But I do go fully loaded and have had to turn back a couple times for fear of body damage, thus the sliders are on order. As it was the stock suspension wasn't adequate with that shell 2 big guys and all our camping/fishing gear on a Baja trip.

I'm in a dclb and had the 887 with aluminum bumper/skids, steel sliders, and synthetic rope winch for a while, ended up being too soft, bottomed out lots and they sagged after a year or so. Changed to 886 which was much better. Now on bp-51, which is a huge improvement

Good info to know! I may be taking it back to the shop sooner then! figured cause Im in an access cab and manual trans, my truck would be lighter and the 886 would be too stiff. Time will tell!

Let me know how it rides. Thinking of going ARB bumper (without winch) and just trying to figure out the spring rate for my AC. I'll be calling our local off road shop tomorrow to get their input.

Yeah you might be fine with the AC! Hard to tell, but that's my experience any way

As much as I like my 885 coils (same spring rate as 887), I think I would've been happier with 886 - and I don't even have a bumper on my access cab.

Thanks man! Slowly building inventory. We've only been open 3 months now. I'm excited to see what it looks like in a year!

Got the lift finally on! Rides like a dream! For the access cab guys wondering about OME 887s? they are perfect in my opinion, got around 2.5inch of lift in front and rear (from Dakars).

Will post better pictures later with the CVs and other components. If you are in Houston,TX would recommend taking your rig to Duggy's Garage. They do awesome work and are Toyota friendly!
