I have Frontpoint security at the house and get notifications on my phone when the power is out. When it went out earlier I was praying then I got another notice it was back on. So at least I know my house didn't get squished.

We have trees behind the house that are 4' in diameter up on a hill less than 60' away. The trees are over 60' tall. The hill is level with the roof line.

    Imagine this scenario:

I wouldn't mind coming out and helping if y'all need an extra set of hands. Depending on the day.

Plus somebody should supervise Randy. He needs it from time to time.

Super freaking generous of you man! Thanks. I'd like to meet as many of you all as possible. The whole point of doing a lift is so I can go out to GR or wherever with you all on those rare days I have nothing else to do. I'm definitely a more the merrier kinda guy.

    Now that's funny there.

Because SOMEONE never washes his truck *cough cough*

JK that's one thing that's inevitable with an off road truck. You will ALWAYS get dirt in your eye when underneath working on it. No matter how hard you try.

Well, once I am able to afford it, and buy it, Randy will dictate the day/time, I will take off from work if needed. I am just bringing the parts, some tools if needed, beer (unless he's a Zima or wine cooler drinker) and food.

Don't do the full kit, the shocks they package with the kit are pretty crap. If I would do it again, I'd get the bilstein 6112 up front, and the Dakar pack out back with 5160's and longer brake lines to use the full travel. The shocks they use in the kit are too short for the back, and it causes a super harsh ride when the rear suspension hits full droop in one side and gets stoped abruptly by the shock

Damn. Looks like both front and rear bumpers are a total loss. The Mercedes insurance should cover both replacements.
I'll come by a haul your old, damaged, bumpers away for you. :D

So, I want to pick the audio gurus brains in here again. Thought I knew what I wanted, but then went a different direction with the truck and decided on something different. I know I want
    • Backup camera input
    • Retain existing steering wheel controls (an adapter required isn't an issue)
I'm having a hard time deciding on phone integration and where the music comes from. I don't ever take calls or text when I'm driving, as a rule, but I do use Google maps quite extensively for navigation. Right now I have a cheap chinese adapter to play music off of a flash drive, I wouldn't be opposed to playing it from my phone, as long as it didn't interfere with Google maps (phone is a galaxy s7, for reference) I don't use spotify or Pandora or any of that, all my music is mp3 files. I'm not looking to replace the entire audio system, just the radio for right now, with incremental upgrades down the road or as needed. Id like to keep the head unit itself under $400, but I'm a bit flexible with that number. Reccomend me a head unit?

Edit: as of right now, this is the unit in my top spot, but if there's a better unit, I'm all ears

I have been really happy with Old Man Emu, and found them quite durable for my needs, but I hate knowing that I left some travel on the table. That’s what my bumps are for.

    A thing or two...
Sounds like it's time to clear some trees, so even if one does come down it doesn't hit the house.
