For those looking for the absolute highest clearance bumpers available for the 2nd gen Tacoma, here they are. These are all sold as weld-together kits that are laser measured, designed using professional CAD software, and then cut by CNC. They are provided with everything you need to build and mount the bumpers on your vehicle. This includes very detailed instruction manuals full of labelled diagrams created in CAD software. All of the kits are designed to be built by a novice welder without the use of any welding jigs or fixtures!

That white truck looks familiar :anonymous:

Seriously though I love my Coastal Offroad bumpers! Brandon did an awesome job and was willing to accommodate my requests.

The front is quite light which is nice compared to the arb I previously had, while still remaining strong and offering good protection.

Can't wait to get them all painted up and install my winch:thumbsup:

I don't have one myself but have seen lots lately and know the owner personally - awesome quality products made by a stellar guy. Will likely be getting one very soon.

Looks good guys! Aluminium rear bumper option. Don't see that offered much.

Thanks guys! I have an updated front bumper design for the 1st gen coming very soon, followed by a 1st gen rear and 3rd gen front and rear kits. Like all of our other bumpers, these will be super high clearance designs and available with a variety of tubing and swing out options!

Just finished building my 1st gen front bumper. I also have the rear bumper and tire carrier that I will be starting on in a few weeks. Love these bumpers!

That looks very good! How was the assembly? Any hiccups or trouble for the beginner? also like how it comes ready to switch to full hoops just in case.

I had some issues that were related specifically to my truck and not the way the bumper goes together. The passenger frame horn is bent down and slightly in so I had to compensate for that as well as the additional 1/4" plate I added to reinforce the frame there. Assembly instructions are included so it should be straight forward if you can weld. The hoops are optional only. I'm not going to do the full headlight hoops.

How much does the front weigh would you say? Main selling point for me is weight and how recessed the bumper is. My current bumper is around 150 plus a 75lb winch. Were you able to fit a winch in it?

I'm not sure exact weight ( 100ish lb?) but I have the steel version with 3 hoops and I have removed and installed the complete bumper by myself. The weight savings was also a major factor for me making the switch.

Yes I have a smitty 9500xrc winch installed. It's a tight fit. I hear the new version of the bumper makes the install easier, but don't know exactly what's changed. I have since relocated the winch control box to the engine bay.

I removed the lower sheet metal as Bayrak suggested and fit a Warn 12s in there. It’s tight! My grill protrudes a little bit but I’m happy I didn’t have to relocate the control box.

I’m VERY happy with the kit! It was a fun project (even though my welding skills suck—I was able to do it in a long weekend).

Awesome thanks for the info. I cant quite picture what sheet metal you're talking about. Is it a support bracket for anything? Damn those look good boys.

This is what I have currently, and while it's not bad. Its heavy and looks too much like an iron cross bumper for my liking

So did you cut out the entire grill cross member?

I havent mounted my winch yet. Decided to swap to synthetic line. Cable sketches me out. Were you able to leave the bumper on when you mounted it? Gotta find a place to mount my solenoid.

Here she is all tacked up prior to finish welds and paint. I didnt went the clean edges along the top plate since it was so flush. Kinda wish I had. Figured itd be unnecessary work. (First time running flux core, we'll see it it can handle a winch pulling on it

I cut some of the sheet metal behind the plastic grill and some of the black plastic at the back. I had already installed a metal mesh grill insert so much of it was already trimmed.

I did need to remove the bumper to install the winch.

    Here’s the crossmember I removed

There’s a gap between my grill and lights, but I can live with it (and my poor welds).
