Hey all, I'm having a battery drain issue. I did the whole parasitic draw test and found nothing. I do have a bed led set up, a Cravenspeed bluetooth OBD fob, and a Tekonsha T3 brake controller. All of them are good. I've checked. Not sure if it matters but I have a TRD supercharger on there too and run nothing but 91 Octane from my local Costco.

What I also have is the fuel evap test running well prior to the 5 hour, manual stated initiation time. It goes off several times before 5 hours and several more afterwards. I don't know the exact frequency because I'm not quite at the point that some of you guys are where I'm going to sit in my garage for hours on end staring at my chariot.

Anyone else have a frequently running evap sensor? Ever localize the issue?

It might be something as simple as a fuel cap but I'm not sure. I spend a fair amount of time up in the mountains where it's cold as hell and I don't want this getting me stuck somewhere out in the boonies with a dead Tacoma. I've just replaced the battery to deal with it and the issue is already having a negative effect on it.

Have you checked your battery to see if it's even good? Need more information as to why you think there is a draw, has the truck been dead and needed jump startting?

Replaced battery about a month ago thinking that was the issue but it's been sputtering out the gate now as well if the truck sits more than a day or two. It still turns over and starts, but I can feel that it's not where it should be. Even if the spastic evap test doesn't turn out to be the culprit I still want to know why it's doing it. Is it happening for anyone else, or does your Tacoma stick to its 5 hour regularly scheduled tee time?

How did you preform the parasitic draw test?

Followed this vid and found no suspect fuzes, though I plan on doing it again during the week when my GF isn't over so I have more time and can focus better.

That is a decent one but this is how I do it. Here is a video. Follow what he does to the T. You must wait until the car "goes to sleep" before preforming the test. The way Eric did it is kind of the old school way and not as accurate on today's modern cars. Once you can do it report back the test results. There will be a couple of differences than on the car he did it on like the door switches just push them like Eric did.

Just make sure after you park the truck go ahead and open the doors and hood of where you'll need to be in the truck to get to the fuses and make sure you press the switches so they don't give you a false or masked draw. Then let the truck sit for a few hrs to go to sleep.
