Looks like we're the only 2 experiencing this. I'm running larger tires (275/70/17) and have 300+ pounds of additional weight from armor and winch, so I don't know if that's it? Perhaps I just need to put the pedal to the floor, that'll definitely force it to downshift. Just odd it only happens in that particular speed intermittently. I'm going to reflash and put more miles on it to see what happens. It doesn't happen often, so it doesn't bother me too much at the moment. However, if it starts happening more frequently that's going to suck. I hope he releases the more aggressive version he mentioned during the 1.03 release, would love to try that out.

No need to reflash it. Just hook up and choose “clear DTC”

Yep, same as unplugging your battery and letting the ECU do the learning again.

Don’t forget to let it idle for 10 minutes undisturbed.

Let’s say a guy needs to buy a laptop/tablet just for this. What’s the most budget friendly option? I wouldn’t need it for anything else.

Mat's post below was in regard to a different issue. But it seems like he is indicating that people are not giving the the ECU enough time to adapt to the tune, and some of the problems that people are experiencing will work themselves out as the truck adapts. At least that's how I'm reading it.

I found this on eBay, used. I have a T530 and the wife has the T430, both bought used. Good durable machines. They are not pretty but perfectly adequate for tuning and general use.

This is correct. Every time it's flashed the ignition trims, KCS trims, Fuel trims, Idle learn value trims, everything is reset. Until this is all relearned, there is going to be some "settling."
Also some of the stuff people are reporting is things that happen on a stock truck, and are related to how the ECU functions, not related to the tune. (for example cold idle, RPM fluctuation when you spin the wheel, injector cleaning noises, RPM slip on torque converter engage / disengagement) Many of these things happen on the stock tune, I think people just aren't as aware of it after driving their trucks for so long.
Also the low RPM slip on engagement of the torque converter is normal and related to the 3 tier engagement system > OFF > SLIP > ON. Nobody has "felt" this before because the stock tune does not utilize it nearly as much. You can feel it the most in 4th or higher gears. when you let off the gas, there is a disengagement, you press the gas the RPM goes up maybe 100-200 RPM up, then a small drop on full engagement.

Gears 4/5/6 are full lock on nearly all loads
gears 1/2/3 are no lock, or full lock depending on load.

I wonder if this is the chugging people are talking about? when you are decel / coasting the converter will unlock and RPM will change even if speed does not. Normal function just noticeable when you are cruising around at 1300-1400 rpm. to soften it, the lock will need disabled, which means more load on higher gear, downshift will happen, mpg gone

I just want you to understand that the people that are completely enjoying the mother loving snot (did I make it through that without swearing??) out of your tune are not raising a big fuss or posting every two seconds on the forum. I believe (only because I want to, and have zero evidence) that it's the majority of us. I knew how the truck idled and responded before, and I'm very happy with your product.

Mat @OVTune thanks again for the good service. Got my dongle up here in Vancouver. The tune works great. Give the guy some space, it is a proprietary thing he is doing. He's been burned by help before and I understand where he is coming from.

I let my truck idle for just over 10 minutes after installing the tune. No steering input, fan off, stereo off. I just let it learn. Part of me wonders if this would alleviate some of the problems observed.
