This is without the flares. You can see the holes on the front.
With the bed and no flares

What happened to your bed makes me worried! I don't want that to happen to me!

Honestly I don’t know what I did considering how many people run the same setup...I guess it was the weight or something. Still though it isn’t ideal. The flatbed and the cap have been pricey but still cheaper that another bed, lighter cap and a drawer system which could break again...

Well the truck is back from the shop....need an alignment and to go through the break in procedure.

    So the truck just got:
-upper and lower ball joints (greaseable)
    -LCA bushings, cams, sleeves etc
    -spindle gussets
    -Cam gussets
    -4.88s
    -arb lockers front and rear
    -new wheel bearings

Considering what I had originally priced out, I got a lot of extra parts and things done for what I was originally thinking. If it wasn't for the bed breaking it wouldn't have been to expensive of a winter....but it did :annoyed:

I mean, you could have gone the boring route and just took the cap off, thrown the RTT on the roof rack and called it good hahaha

Issues was the fridge. Needed to be out of the elements, plus all the stuff in the bed wasn't secured for no cap. Then there is the issue with the electrical. The alternative would have been drawer system, new lighter cap and rtt but the bed would have still been broken. This way its fixed, shouldn't break as the bed is good for 3 tons. Buy once, cry once....

Yep that’s still the plan. Just did some drivetrain stuff so just recouping from that then it’s cap buying time!

Cool! I am very interested to see how you like it. There is very little info on the web about the Ute Top. Plan on keeping it white or painting it?

Right now it’s going to be white, but I may get it wrapped. I may be ordering it within the month. I’ll be sure to post a bunch of pictures for ya.

So far so good. I have to put about 800kms on until I get the oil changed and the diffs inspected. Right now I have to drive like an old lady so it’s hard to tell of the power I actually gained because I can’t use it...but it’s better than breaking it and having to do it again. Would be extremely expensive.

Haha. Trying, I’m almost at 400km. This week I have to box the frame and put new crossmemeber in. Plus I’m building a bumper. Then I can drive it lol.

Continuing with the gear break in. Almost half way there on the kilometre front. I have been building a bumper though.

I used a lot of peoples builds to help. Using the 3x4 1/4 angle iron for frame plates for instance.

In some of the pics it looks like my tails will be blocked. They will be moved afterwards.

Welded recovery points to the frame mounts

Then using a 2x4 3/16 tube that’s 76 inch’s long I fit the angle and recovery points through

I’m at the point where I am bracing it to make it more rigid.

    Update:
Added some supports to hopefully make the mounting system more solid.

Moved the tail lights to make room for the license plate and junk that’s going in the middle

I have capped the ends and added a few odds and ends.

Bumper is done. I was able to use pelfreybilts camera mounts to remount my camera. Very nice to have it back.
