Upgrade tire weights, what have the dealerships there been giving you to smoke?

Your tires being out of balance could cause a shake at certain speeds. You just take it and get them rebalanced.

Your tires being out of balance could cause a shake at certain speeds, but you just take it and get them rebalanced. The brakes being dirty and the weights needing upgraded are catchy lines to get that hook deeper into you. Find a good tire shop and get your tires rebalanced, and check/adjust your rear brakes yourself (fronts don't need cleaned or adjusted).

Would it be a constant or random shake if the tires need to be balanced?

I'm not sure i've ever seen that truck before, which is odd considering how much I find myself at the Easley Walmart lol. There is a nice silver 2nd gen that i've noticed lurking around Easley tho. All decked out with Pelfreybilt

@TACONOLES94 What @Sandman614 said and is advising is on point. Unless those rear drums were packed full of a ton of brake dust they shouldn't be locking and unlocking. Cleaning and adjusting is a common practice because of 2 things, 1)there is no where for the used friction material to escape from the drum and 2)they never self adjust like they are supposed to and need to be adjusted so that they provide braking like they should. Cleaning and adjusting is a simple as taking the wheel off knocking the drum off getting a can of brake clean and spraying out the drum and off the shoes and harrdware. Next replace the drum look on the back of the backing plate there should be a rubber plug in a slotted hole stick a flat blade screw driver in there to the star wheel and turn that star wheel until there is some friction to turn the drum.

On a side note they really should be teachin automotive maint. and basic skills in HS!!!!!!!!

So this is a tire industry thing there are around 6 different style wheel weights to be able to grip different lip designs well and correctly. What he is talking about is probably switching to a coated steel weight but there could of also been a design change in the hook shape. There has been a push by environmental groups with the EPA to rid lead weights from the automotive industry. It kinda sucks because the steel weights IMO aren't as good and have to be bigger for the same weight. But still you shouldn't need to replace them until it is time for a rotate and balance or you are having balancing issues.

Na not in the actual high school, its a separate facility but you elect to take a class at the career center. It's actually really nice, our career center is only open to juniors and seniors and it was about a 45 minute drive to get from the HS to the career center. It was always fun driving out there every day since we were all newly licensed drivers.
