I have my axle seal leaking 3rd time in 4 years. 2x driver side, now passenger side. Last time I was advised to keep checking the diff breather to make sure it is loose and moves freely which I did every couple of months. Back to leaky axle seal. Always a mess, ruins my brake shoes, significant expense. Apart from regular daily driver duty, I only drive on gravel roads, no offroading. Not sure if this is my issue, but will give it a shot. I really hope once done this will be permanent fix for me.

Thanks for posting. I will route it to my unused bed cubby. I know myself, if I route this next to the gas filler like some people do, I will spill bunch of gas on it at some point. :(

Welcome @kryten :) where in :canada: are you ?

Yes i agree that the gas filler would not be a good place, there is always just as much salt dust inside this as whats on the outside box side

    This should fix your problem

Did you read from the start ?

That's ok we can screech you in and make you a honorary Newfoundlander

    screechlabel.jpg

Yes this is a thing in Newfoundland .........

Newfoundland Screech is used in a non-obligatory ceremony known as the "screech-in". The "screech-in" is an optional ceremony performed on non-Newfoundlanders (known to Newfoundlanders as a "come from away" or "mainlander") involving a shot of screech, a short recitation and the kissing of a cod. It is often performed either in homes or more commonly in town pubs.

The general process of a screech-in varies from pub to pub and community to community, though it often begins with the leader of the ceremony introducing themselves and asking those present if they'd like to become a Newfoundlander. The proper response, of course, would be a hearty "Yes b'y!" Each participant is asked to introduce themselves and where they come from, often interrupted by commentary by the ceremony leader, jokingly poking fun at their accent or hometown. Each holding their shot of Screech, they are then asked "Are ye a screecher?" and are taught the proper response: "'Deed I is, me ol' cock! And long may yer big jib draw!" Translated, it means "Yes I am, my old friend, and may your sails always catch wind."

A cod fish – or any other fish unsightly enough to suitably replace the cod – is then held up to lip-level of each participant, who then bestows the fish with a kiss.

Some screech-in traditions vary in both the order of events as well as the necessary requirements. In all cases, no matter what, only a native Newfoundlander can officiate a proper screech-in.

I couldn't agree more. With the exception of anyone that thinks the Cheeto is a good president.

So for the one person following this build ( thanks Mom ) I have been rebuilding rear brakes on my 1st gen Tacoma as the pads came off the shoes. This involved a complete dismantling of rear brakes and the handbrake system and a clean up to free it all up again. One of the geared star adjusters had the side worn off of it so I will have to find a donar. All this with pictures and video can be found under my 2002 build link in my signature (shameless plug)

2007 progress I think ? ... Terra took her well worn out toy to the Tacoma shop, I took my assortment of metric hardware. I had to disassemble rear axel again to put in the missing o ring, I also put gasket maker on it ultra copper used in high heat applications but it’s all I had. Installed ABS sensor with a thin coat of dielectric grease and some in the connector. ABS light is still on
