I want a high end lift kit, leaning towards King, but open to Fox. I do a lot more city and highway driving than off-roading...King has an adjustable option, Fox is adjustable standard.

Would I need this brake line extension? The Fox kit includes it, but the King kit doesn't...

These are the wheels I'll put in after the lift. Fuel Assault 18x9 -12 offset

And this is the end goal for lift and wheels.

I've never lifted a truck and not sure if I'll need to purchase anything else for the lift. Obviously wheels, tires and alignment. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I've heard good things about Icon, just not much. The main thing I like about king is the color, as bad as that sounds. Ill check out ICON

I'm basically asking what else do I need. Is the kit all I need and do I need the brake line extension. Wheels and picture for attention.

I meant the guy saying “lots” of people are leaving King for Icon.

They’re not competitors.. King, is.. king.

    My thoughts.

Fox has non adjustable as well.
Fox, King or Icon - you'll be happy. Just choose what make sense for your use.

King is known to be best for Off-Road, not as good on road. Fox is more known to be a better blend of on and off road. If you plan to mostly stay on road, you might want to think about that.
Icon is also a good option which lots of people are happy with. I personally have Fox 2.5s with DSC adjusters and love it. Have ridden in a King Tacoma as well, also a great ride but definitely more off-roady.

Edit: This is just my opinion!

I figure go big or go home, considering I plan on keeping this truck for a long time.
Is that a kit or you had to purchase separate parts? Did you drop front diff? Did you need brake line extension? And what size tires are you running? Thanks!
I definitely will be using the truck on-road most of the time. I want the suspension to feel closer to stock. If I got the adjustable kings, would that help the on-road feel?

I purchased the individual suspension parts separately. I have the Fox 2.5 w/ DSC up front with Total Chaos UCAs - Fox 2.5 rear w/ Icon Progressive AAL. I didn't extend the brake line, but many do. I did not drop the diff either. Tires i'm running 265/75/16 but planning to go bigger once I am ready to re-gear.

I can't speak to the adjust-ability of the kings for on road driving. But I can tell you from my experience they are softer and act much more like an off road truck on road than the Fox do.
Honestly, you'll be satisfied with either. I personally love my Fox 2.5s. I think they are fantastic off and on road.

You might have to do a cab mount chop depending on the tire size you go with. I bought the same king system but with the dakar leaf pack instead of AAL. I also added a u-bolt flip kit with superbump bump stops.

What is a good option for a rear lift if you aren't planning on towing anything and don't have much weight in the bed? Howcome everyone just goes with an AAL or new leaf pack?

I can't recall ever reading a post from someone who dumped their Kings to 'upgrade' to Icon.

    Got any sample threads?

Or are these 'many people' non-members?

I just purchased the KING KIT today. I wanna throw on 285/65/18 And I'm pretty confident I won't have any rubbing on road or light off road. What is the advantage with the Dakar leaf pack? And what is the purpose of the u-bolt flip kit? Thanks
