I read the LED Lighting Conversion thread, it was very helpful, but I noticed that a few of the parts were no longer available on Amazon. I can attest to this interior kit I’ve bought two sets, on for me and one for my brother in law. I got it directly from thier website for $15. My set was perfect but one of the wedge bulbs color was off/dull with greenish tint as opposed to the cool white/super white that it was supposed to be. Told them and they had two replacements in the mail for me the next day. This kit simplifies and eliminates the need to research each interior light type. Highly recommend.

 

Does the front turn signal need the resistors to prevent the hyper blinking as well or just the rear? Are there any alternatives to an LED bulb that doesn’t hyper flash? And is this the front center blinker bulb replacement or the side marker blinker within the headlight housing?

 

So, i'll try not to ramble but this is what i've learned.

7440 and 7443 are the same physical bulb, the 7440 (if i remember correctly) is for on/off. That's it. That's what the front turn signal uses. The ones I linked do not need a resistor.

The rear signal / brake uses a 7443 as when you have the running lights on, only some of the led's are lit. Then when you use the turn signal/brake, the remaining light up.

Each side is on the same circuit. So if a front or rear bulb is out, you'll get the hyper flash. It's based on resistance which you likely read about in the other thread, which I admit is just getting way too crowded with info and the first post should be updated.

So the system is looking for the same resistance as the filament bulb and that's why you need a resistor. So far, I've had good luck with the 6ohm but you may need to move up to an 8ohm. I had random hyper flash but it turned out to be a kinked wire. I put the resistor on the rear LED turn signal bulb only.

 

Would I be able to change just the front ON/OFF blinker, leave the rear with OEM filament glass style as is and not need a resistor? My goal is to get rid of the yellow reflection of the OEM amber-glass-tinted front blinker when it's not blinking (during the day its reflection is ugly). Using what you linked would reflect nicely, and amber would come on when blinking for hazards or signaling.

Will these interior lights work for the 2018 as well? I know the trucks are very very similar but just wanted to make sure.

 

I have changed out the front blinkers to LED and have no hyper flash. I believe the rumor is that changing both the front and rear will give you the hyper flash.
I do not care to run the resistors if I don't have to. If anyone has ever noticed how hot those resistors get. On my other truck after time the wires coming out of the resistors became brittle and would break off with the slightest touch.
