    Hey guys -

This may have been asked and answered, but just cannot seem to find it.

2017 TRD OR DC with Tow Package - what is the actual towing capacity? What have some of you hauled? I am looking to get a small travel trailer for weekend trips - nothing crazy. What recommendations on trailers - not really looking for a canvas/pop-up style?

    Thanks-

Read the tag on your drivers side B post. That’s the most accurate for your truck.

Every truck is a bit different depending on port installed options. Door jamb is most accurate. Also, pretty much everything gets hauled or towed around here.

there is a good (long) thread here in the 3rd Gen section that you should read. I'm too lazy to link it. In summary, the Taco performs admirably as long as you don't get too close to the stated max limit. Taco is not a Tundra. Based on what I've read, I would not get within 1000 lbs of the stated max.

Jayco 175RD Baja edition- Comes with a flipped axle for better clearance and is covered underneath for some protection. 2017 DCSB with tow package rated at 6500 lbs. This trailer weighs about 2900lbs dry, I drove it loaded at about 3500lbs and I had an extra ton of gear in the truck. It did really well on long trips but we love it for weekends too. Thats because it is fibreglass. Much better construction then standard RV trailers which get shaken apart after a few years.

Not saying scamps are good but there is a manufacture here in BC that produces probably some of the best fibreglass trailers out there. escape trailers, last time I checked it was a 6 month waiting time.
