Recently had some rather extensive work done to my ‘16 Tacoma because someone ran into me. Repairs were completed, but I think one thing needs to be corrected and I want to confirm on here first. Isn’t the gear indicator by the gear shift supposed to be blue regardless of day or night? Example: when you’re in Drive the D is lit up blue but if you switch to Reverse, the R changes to blue. Is that correct? In mine I have no lights as of now (even at night).

Was the center console removed? If so, perhaps the shift indicator light harness was not connected prior to closing up the console? Push down on the chrome ring under the shift knob, once it releases from the knob, unscrew the knob. Move the shift lever to the N position, E brake on. Grab the top of the center console on both sides, near the front cup holders and pull up. Steady upward pressure. Once it releases a bit, move to the passenger's side and look between the top of the console and base of the console to see if the harness is connected or floating around under the console.

I bet that’s the problem. A new frame had to be installed, so I’m guessing pretty much everything was messed with/removed, including the console. Thanks for the help and reply.
