Just got both a text and an email from work about tomorrow:

"As you know we are expecting heavy snow tonight into tomorrow. We are evaluating the situation and will provide an update on the status of the BOC and Support Center at or before 7AM on Wed. Please Do Not start your commute until you hear an updated message."

Schools already closed for tomorrow, and my son's daycare did as well. Who wants to bet with me that my job won't, and it'll be one of those "we're open for business as usual but make the decision yourself and work from home if you can" scenarios?!

Same for taking on more responsibility. In retail I was working as the assistant manager but not paid to be. Kept getting the promise but the manager would find some nitpick and hire outside .3 of them lasted a total of 6 months. I finally told the other shift managers not to call me on my time off, call the manager.

Same thing at my job now, I did a 18 Month project well above my level but can't get the promotion for it

Agreed. I could also recommend a bird. Huge personalities, very cuddly, and almost as independent as a cat!

Get two cats - preferably a pair either siblings or bonded friends, that way they have someone to play with when your gone - less likely to damage the house when they can wrestle with each other.

We've got two, they were foster mates, and get along quite well most the time. The wife really wants a dog.... but we both decided we like our freedom too much right now. The ability to just leave for a weekend and not worry about them, just leave out some extra food and make sure their water is full, or go out one night and crash at a friends without having to worry about getting home to feed them or take them out (they always have dry food out). We decided we'll get a dog when we have kids, at that point were pretty tied down so the dog will fit in.

One of ours is part Maine Coon, the other is just a tabby. They think they are from the same father...possibly the same litter since they were caught a day apart in the exact same spot and are the same age... and have almost exactly the same coloring.

Since we're on the subject... Jojo is our first born. Bro in law got him from WV one year for Christmas at the request of my MIL. So technically he's the wife's dog, but I "adopted" him. He's more attached to her than to me. Follows her EVERYWHERE. Me, he could care less about. Sleeps with us on our bed every night. Wasn't always the case, but we got tired of him scratching at the door downstairs in the middle of the night when we first bought her house back in 2010, so ever since then he's been sleeping with us.

Bro in law got him at some flea market down in redneck West Virginia, supposedly from a "breeder" who said he's a Yorkie. Well, I don't think he's a "normal" Yorkie. Not little like the ones you're used to seeing, and his hair is long and soft when we let it grow. Think he's a Yorkie and Silky mix.

Side note - kicking it back a couple days

    @Spare Parts

Decided Im gonna go the Blue Sea route for a spare aux fuse panel. The Bussmann is super clean... but in the end the cost and ease of making changes allowed the Blue Sea to win out. Will run waterproof relays for things that need em.

Since I don't have easy access to a bench or most of my tool, I pulled the trigger on a blank Paranoid Fab Panel... far cheaper then the Pelfry or other options.
    https://www.paranoidfabrications.co...a-bussmann-relay-holder?variant=6830596915265

Also finally decided to pull the trigger on a CB - figured I'm hoping to run some trails with everyone here this spring/summer/fall and most are running CB and if I do make it up to North Maine Woods it will let me listen in for loggers - going with the Uniden CMX760 for a stealth install with a Larsen NMO27B antenna on a second tailgate mount (driver side CB - pass side Ham)

    Damn Devon! Making me jealous!

I'm still searching for a CB that doesn't broadcast the over-the-air channel over the CB. And figuring out which antenna etc.

"I'm still searching for a CB that doesn't broadcast the over-the-air channel over the CB." - Not sure I follow... what?

As for antenna's - I don't really dig the firestick look, and since the Ham antenna is a whip, I figured the CB whip would fit nicely on the opposite side of the tailgate and be plenty flexible. A 3/8" NMO mount also fits nicely in BAMFs antenna mount and makes for a clean cable routing into the tail light area.

GF has a cat, she still doesn't like leaving him even for a night...:annoyed: I've been slowly getting her better at leave him food and he'll be fine. I grew up with a cat and it was never an issue.

Are you going with a full whip or one of the smaller sizes? I can't decide want I want to do for an antenna, I'm looking for something flexible that if I'm heading into Boston for a B's game I can tie down the tip for going into garages but, don't want to lose too much quality/distance. I had been eyeing some whips but, not sure how'd they do if the majority of the coil is below the roofline. Which led me to looking at the Wilson Flex and a Firestick; still so many options to comb through. I have a President Johnny III sitting in an Amazon box waiting for me to get the remaining pieces needed together(PA amp, cable, antenna, & mount). Likely getting a cali raised tailgate mount to mount it on the driver side.

    Shorter whip- ~50”

    Pulse Larsen NMO27B

NMO mount which is pretty low profile, most people use em for roof mounts. Allows for easy removal of the antenna and a clean low key cap to cover the mount.

Don't you have to drill or mag mount a NMO?
